Mateus Boutique Hotel

Mateus is a restored 1879 old Portuguese mansion within the Boutique and Restaurant lined area of Fontainhas, Panjim. Fontainhas is a conservation zone with heritage listed homes and winding alleyways. The central location puts you in walking distance to transport, the waterfront and Casinos. Jonathan Fernandes, New York based Architect along with Isla Van Damme(Loulou) Belgium born interior designer have transformed this dilapidated mansion into a high end boutique hotel. They have kept the old world elegance and mixed it with a splash of new and modern amenities to create a luxurious home away from home. The mansion looks majestic from the outside with framed arched windows, ornate balconies and stucco moldings. The inside is breathtaking with high ceilings, little niches that add character and the flooring is a combination of the old Portuguese tiles, the original timber flooring and Bharat tiles heritage collection.
