Croissant Bakery and Hotel

The staff was very nice. They even let us have the room at 8am instead of 2pm.

The bathroom were very poorly ventilated thus smelled quite bad. The toilets were not cleaned enough. Moreover there was a leak from the ceiling in front of our room.

It’s a nice cute place, clean and tidy, smells great (bakery), and pretty comfortable.

One staff member in particular pretty much ruined our stay by screaming at us when we returned from dinner at 11.30 pm. The hostel was locked and dark. No one had told us if there were any rules about returning at night, we weren’t given a key and the phone number stuck to the door didn’t work (country code/no country code... we shouldn’t have to use our phones anyway). So we tapped on the door to the bakery and the window to the lounge. This staff member came out absolutely furious and screamed at us for disturbing sleeping guests, him, etc. He yelled at us about rules and pointed to a notice on the bottom of the counter - posted in Russian, no English. No one had bothered to try and tell us in advance and anyway - it was only 11.35 pm - and we’d been locked out! (Also, we noticed the Russian sign he was pointing at said something about 12, meaning we weren’t even actually late). He was practically unhinged with anger, it was extremely uncalled for. This staff member can’t speak much English, which ordinarily would be fine, but prior to this outburst in almost any interaction he was rude and annoyed. I complained about him the next morning at the desk but no one cared and they were completely dismissive and abrupt - none of the staff is going to win any prizes for manners, actually. They evidently do not want guests who don’t speak Russian.
