The villa has a stunning view of the bay and the mountains. It was a very pleasant surprise. I did not realize that the property was so far from the city. However, it was such a hidden gem and a wonderful experience. If you want to experience the more authentic experience of Jamaica, I would recommend that you stay here. It has the quietness and relaxing side of Jamaica, far from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Jennifer was very hospitable and she was kind enough to take us to the restaurants and convenience stores. Also, the Chilled Out restaurant was our favorite place during our visit.
The pictures shown on this website don’t do justice to how beautiful this property really is. There are beautiful palm trees, flowers, and other exotic plants all around making the scenery so beautiful. The view from the property is breathtaking! You can see the entire ocean and other beautiful parts of Jamaica. Our room was very spacious and had a nice private balcony that we used every night. The area was so calm and peaceful. The host, her daughter, and the rest of the staff were so helpful and took us everywhere we needed to go with no hesitation. Would definitely stay here again.
The property was up on a high hill, but seeing as the host will take you everywhere you need to go, it wasn’t a problem for us at all.
The Emerald View had it all! It is gated and nestled in the hills, surrounded by beautiful scenery of other homes, lush vegetation of exotic fruit trees and a never-ending view of the ocean. It is quiet and so beautiful that even if you stayed in your room all day, it would be filled with tranquility. Our room was very, very large and most of the rooms include a balcony where you can eat and drink privately. Everything was very clean. Be sure to bring your own toiletries because none are available. We always bring our own but some people expect them during their stays. A mini-fridge is in every room. There is room service available. A baby grand piano in the family room -- you are welcome to use if you know how to play. Reggae music from the neighbors added to the ambiance. The food in the restaurant was delicious and had the Jamaican flavor, even the American breakfast was better than at home! Pancakes were so much better! They taste very similar to Cracker Barrel's. The hostess, Jennifer, and the whole staff, was beyond helpful and caring. She was patient, informative, and went out of her way to please us and other guests. We had the opportunity to meet two of her three wonderful children. There were other guests staying there during our stay. It was so peaceful that we didn't even notice they were there. Jennifer was available to shuttle us anywhere we wanted to go to, for a fee. She even took us to a local Jamaican place because we wanted truly Jamaican jerk chicken and Jamaican patties. Be sure to go early because they sell out. There is a pool on the premises which is very relaxing. I would have posted the photos that I took but I accidentally left my cell phone at the hotel. I'm working on figuring out how to get it back. Be sure to leave a tip for the staff members. They all go above and beyond their duties to help you out in any way possible.
Having to leave. And, we should have rented a car. The distance up the hill from the main road is about a mile. That is the only "con" that we could think of. That is of course, because of our lifestyle. We love to go places and meddle with the locals. Being that transportation was an issue, rides into the city can add up and become expensive. We were there for four days and missed out on many opportunities to see other sites. Again, our fault for not looking into this. The resort is a short half-hour drive to Montego Bay. The food is very expensive everywhere. Most beaches charge fees to enter.
Staff and owner are wonderful I will always stay here when I visit
The host, Jenifer is very friendly and helpful. The view is fantastic and the room is nice.
The public road to the house is not well built but not the host's problem.
