I got a massive favor from the lady at reception, as she let us have an other room (better and more expensive) that what we booked. She is very kind and amicable and we felt at home. Nothing was too much for her to please us. Great sense of hospitality in a small but comfortable riad, very cute.
I found the taxi rate of 15 euros of the hotel to take us to the airport a bit excessive as it is only 7 minutes away. Also the could do with a few maps of the city.
The staff was super helpful and friendly, always ready to help you to organize a excursion or an outing. Lovely, comfortable atmosphere. Rooms very clean and good size. Great breakfast.
A bit difficult to find at first, but once in there easy to remember and close to the centre, with in walking distance to everything.
The atmosphere and helpful staff.
Walking up the dark alley at night, being two women on their own.
Warmth.helpfullness,andfriendlieness of the owners.
No windows to the outside in the bedroom.
Breakfast was bought outside of riad and heated up in frying pan (pancakes) whilst staff watched tv on internet. Staff chatted loudly whilst guests relaxing after lunch in room. Reception asked for payment the minute we arrived as if we were about to flee - we stayed 5 days!
Marrakech is where the details are not paid external to buildings - with no western perfect plaster or the straight lines: the majestic front door is the first sign you will enter an oasis in the desert, to see the pictures on the web fully realised. Learning the subtleties of the culture, you realise that the adults are telling the little urchins to leave the tourists alone, and you realise they are not a threat. I really could not have wanted for more - there was even a pre-wedding party in the alley taking the dowry to the bride - very apt since it was my hen do. The three accomodating staff speak more french than english, and entertained and provided the odd beer or some wine. Enjoy!
It is located in the real world of Marrakech, not in the Tourist spick and span part of town. But who wants a Best Western anyway? The comments about repetitive food are within reason, but we did find them responsive to requests for alternatives! At the end of the day, the culture is that you don't just demand, but that within conversation that you bargain, and we found that we had all that we wanted, as a result!
Very friendly staff at the Riad Aderbaz, clean room with comfortable beds. In a good location close to the Main Square, Saadian tombs and El Baddii Palace. Easy to reach from the airport, just a short walk from bus stop no 5.
the hotel is situated right in the heart of the ancient medina, only minutes away from the main square. difficult to find, but much worth the hunt. on the outside it resembles a shanty. on the inside however, the detail will leave you in awe.
Difficult to locate
