If you want a cheaper option this place is an amazing value. The breakfast is huge. Rooms are good. It’s a 2 minute walk to the night market. The hospitality was wonderful. We were even able to check in at an odd time. We organized all of our buses and tours through them for good deals.
We had a twin room which was small but the double rooms have more space.
Great and friendly staff, hot shower, good aircon/fan, nice breakfast, and daily room cleaning. Wifi and tv work good. They offer laundry service and it was great! Also had filtered water which we love. They can book tours/buses/motorbikes. Definitely a good place to stay for a great price.
Only downside was the beds were not that comfortable, just worn down and you could feel the springs alot.
The location was great, on the river peninsular with loads of good restaurants.
The breakfast was so bad we didn’t bother after the first day. The boys on reception are smiley but with one exception didn’t speak a word of English. Our room. Hmm. We stayed in Pakbeng in a room that cost next to nothing and it looked like a cell, but it was clean. This room looked nice but apart from the beds, sweeping the floor and wiping the sink, I don’t think it had ever been cleaned properly! The cleaners must be given about 5 minutes a room - tops. It’s the one thing I won’t forgive as I’ve looked after holiday let’s myself. Oh and the shower was so clogged it didn’t work at all until we spent half hour cleaning it with a pin. Poor standards and probably the most expensive place we’ve stayed on our trip through Asia so far ☹️
The bed was really comfortable.the staff were polite & really helpful.they let me leave my bag in the hotel while I went to.nong khiaw.i was pleased overall & there was drinking water in your room.not every hotel/guesthouse provides this.
Unfortunately my room was facing the road & noisy at night.
I liked the location. It is very close to the Mekong River, the Night and Morning markets, and close to a good money exchange. The room could have been better but it was sufficient for my needs. Bathroom could have done with some hooks to hang clothes but it had hot water so you make do :-). I nice quaint place with good staff.
Nothing major I didn't like but I guess it would be good if they had hooks in the bathroom. And that they were more consistent in cleaning the rooms. Otherwise, if you want a simple place, with simple breakfast and nice staff, you can't go wrong with this place. Also price wise, it was affordable.
