Too be honest location
Cameras everywhere, Staff unfriendly Watching us all the time. Felt uncomfortable. The food was discussing shop brought food. Prices for what you got was far too much
Dinning area was clean and nice.
Room was way too small for 3 beds and had no ventilation.
The breakfast (I had the continental) was ok, but the croissants were slightly disappointing, the ham and cheese basic and the coffee not to my taste. The yoghourt was good but there was not enough fresh fruit.
I had to move rooms. Room 71 which I was given had no electric sockets to put a kettle in (there was black plastic over the socket area). The window was wide open and was such that a woman of 70 could not close on her own. Luckily I hadn't unpacked. A helpful member of staff arrived quickly once i rang reception and helped me upstairs with my case. Room 176 upstairs was better and had the basic facilities, but it wouldn't hurt to leave a biscuit or two as well as the tea and coffee.
The man on the desk ibrahim was extremely helpful changed my room for me with no problems
Steep stairs at entrance with no ramp or assistance for elderly and disabled with luggage or shopping, plus inconsiderate drivers blocking road while unloading instead of parking first. Room claustrophobic with only inches around beds and having to step sideways around beds and duck to avoid hitting head on tv box on wall. English breakfast left out too long, drying bacon, sausages and hash browns, scrambled eggs watery and tasteless, beans with skin on sauce. No wifi obtained in room / no signal. Only wifi in reception area. Parking charge of £10 per night in limited space car park with no option to park on road as resident permit parking only in surrounding roads for householders. Complaint to reception and restaurant fell on deaf ears as language difficulties in understanding our point.
Built in 1854 to coincide with the reopening of the Crystal Palace exhibition venue, Best Western London Queens Crystal Palace Hotel is a striking Victorian building in one of the most picturesque parts of south London. A stay here puts you in good company – French writer Emile Zola resided here for many months in the 1890s during his time in exile, while German emperor Kaiser Wilhelm II used the hotel as a base for his visits to Queen Victoria. Our updated rooms all come with contemporary décor, air conditioning, flat-screen TV and hairdryer. We also have an onsite car park, conferencing facilities, Italian restaurant and spacious ground floor lounge bar with satellite TV. Selhurst Park football ground is only a five-minute drive away, while Crystal Palace Park is just two minutes by car. If you’re looking to do a spot of sightseeing while you’re here, you’ll find the major attractions of central London around 8 miles from the hotel.
