We booked super last minute (an hour before arrival) and our host was so accommodating and was able to prepare a room for us. Even served us tea when we arrived!
Very nice staff and incredible good breakfast
Warm water was not always available
The staff- both Carlos’s, Marcos and another were all outstanding, particularly Carlos who I spoke to at length. He really made such a difference as I was quite upset and angry after my first night there. The location is good for exploring Barranco. The breakfast is good too.
The owner has 3 properties and I was in Libertad. The property is very gloomy, run down and depressing. My room was located right beside the only bathroom, which I thought would be good, but the walls were paper thin, and there was a family of 5 I think in one room right beside me on the other side, so between the noise from them using the bathroom, and the bathroom was constantly busy, and meant I didn’t get much sleep. My room had 1 windows which gave onto a tiny courtyard with another room opposite so curtains had to stay closed all the time which made the room even gloomier. The worst thing was the damp! The smell of mould was appalling and overpowering. I thought I’d get used to it but every time I entered the room the smell would hit me. The bedclothes also felt damp and it looked like they were a bit mouldy too. My room was right beside the kitchen too so I could hear any noise as the walls are so thin. I was miserable the first night and spoke with Carlos the next day and explained the situation. He handled it in the best possible way, and I complimented him on this. If it weren’t for him I would ha e left and asked for a refund. The room I stayed in is completely unsuitable for rental- the staff said the humidity in Winter makes it worse. It is a health hazard! I hope the owner takes notice of this- and other negative- reviews to review this listing. Carlos offered to move me to another of their properties which was much better.
good breakfast, great location
Good value and close to everything. The beds were very comfy.
The shared bathroom, the hot.water and the lack of water pressure were a bit of a bother but once you get over that, it was really good value and close to everything.
