Old hotel, musty room. Breakfast not tasty.
STAFF WAS PHENOMENAL. The service can make or break a vacation. Hyatt's staff from check-in, to bell service, room service, and restaurant service was across the board excellent. Location could not have been more convenient and views were incredible.
Hotel construction is very airy. Wonderful views from all directions. Large open lobby area with wonderful shaded sitting area perfect for beach watching. We could see the whales! Beautiful grounds and nice pools. On the beach. Large room and water tastes good! Breakfast buffet delicious but expensive if it is not included in the rate. Concierge was very helpful. Some shopping connected to lobby with good gift selection. Good shaved ice stand. Though not a fan of captive birds, I noticed that all the kids staying there enjoyed the swans, ducks, African penguins, parrots and the Koi pond in the lobby and on the grounds. There is a Lu’au housed in the resort. Star glazing on roof weather permitting. I would say that this resort is good for all ages.
No self parking. You must use valet so be prepared to tip constantly and don’t forget you have to pay the resort fee so use the very nice facilities to get your money’s value. Furniture in room needs up date. No microwave. Mattress was very firm and pillows not good for neck problems. The casual poolside restaurant Umalu has nice atmosphere but food just so-so and pricey for sports bar taco - burger fare. There are lots of great places to eat close by so you don’t have to eat at the resort.
The common areas were astounding! Family friendly in lovers Maui.
The older rooms were over priced and unkept. After moving to the renovated side of the property we enjoyed our stay.
The breakfast was fantastic. Our room was absolutely amazing...best view possible! The staff was very friendly.
The bar staff was Japengo's was not very customer friendly. We were disappointed and did not return there although we enjoyed our appetizer.
