We loved this spot! The hotel and grounds were very nice, kids LOVED the penguins and birds. It was so easy to walk the beach path to explore other restaurants, etc. The pools and waterslides were very entertaining for our kids (ages 4 & 7) and we appreciated that we were welcome to use the pools at the Hyatt Residences building next door as well. The towel exchange system and wristbands were great! Loved the convenience of being able to help ourselves and not wait in line. We had a fantastic dinner at Japengo one night, and we’re very pleased with the breakfast buffet at Swan’s Court (within the hotel). Great service everywhere we went. Thanks Hyatt for a wonderful first time stay!
Hotel is very big with a lot of people. Ordering a pizza to take away took really long and was burnt and tasted really salty. But they have a good towel changing service. As globalists we had regency club access with free drinks and breakfast and dinner appetizers. Unfortunately especially for breakfast tons of people were waiting in line. Never had such a bad breakfast experience in a Hyatt. Of course they wanted to charge us parking fees which should have been waived for globalists. Also the concierge Service was not the best: we requested information regarding diving tours before arrival, never got a reply, also no call back when trying to book a photo shooting.
The property was wonderful and so was the staff. Only thing I didn't love was all the hidden fees such as resort fees and parking. Overall would recommend.
Pros. Bed was very comfortable...
Cons. But the sheets were stained and had holes in them. Room cleaning was perfunctory at best, tv in room didn’t work (which is fine on vacation but late at night after a long day, it’s nice to throw on a movie, especially with kids - our friends couldn’t get their tv to work either). Overall, there just seemed to be a staff shortage, which is fair in tough times, but when you’re paying $600 a night with all the taxes and fees and $21 a drink and $9 for coffee, it’s harder to justify...
Pros. The rooms have recently been refreshed and updated, so they are stellar. Excellent.
Cons. While the resort itself is great, it is on the far end of the walking path from the good swimming beach (closer to Black Rock) and to the shopping Mall that contains shops and restaurants (Whaler's Village). If you're content to stay at the resort all the time, this is fine, but possibly to be closer to everything else you might want to be farther North.
Pros. Great location/ customer service
Cons. NA
Pros. Pool is great, the kids loved going between that and the beach. The hotel did a great job renovating and paid attention to so many small details.
Pros. Amazing breakfast spread. We never ate lunch! Lovely property.
Cons. The pool area could use cleanups throughout the day. Guests who swam in the ocean would track sand into the pool area.
Pros. Very friendly and helpful staffs with great hospitality.
Cons. The bathroom was very old and outdated. The ceiling was cracking and mildew around the bathtub.
