Pros: 1) The location of the hotel was just perfect. It isn't located in the main town street, so it's far away from the tourist crowd. But the main town is just 10 minute car/taxi ride away. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, this hotel is perfect. 2) Their private beach is very quiet and scenic. You can access the beach for relaxing or kayaking. 3) The infinity pool is stunning. It faces the ocean, so you can get some of the best sunrise and sunset views. 4) The spa is very pretty and the spa therapists are really good at giving massages. I had a stress-relief massage and my massage therapist honestly sorted out my back, neck and shoulder. She even gave me fresh ginger tea after my massage. 5) They have a Thai restaurant on site and it serves delicious Thai food. Especially the Pad Kee Mao. 6) If you prefer fine dining, they have a tree-top restaurant. It is one of the best in Koh Samui. You actually get to dine in a tree-house and it is really romantic. 7) The pool bar area does happy hours everyday from 4 to 7. 8) The villas are amazing. We booked the villas with a private plunge pool and I can't tell you how amazing our stay was. The rooms are spacious, the outdoor shower is amazing and the pool temperature is just perfect.

Also very recommend Tree tops bar (one of the best restaurants in Samui) and BBQ night :) Special thanks to the Management - I left a feedback with some recommendations. And on the same day they returned to me to discuss it in more details, and then took immediate actions on each point of my feedback. Really great job and very professional approach. Bravo!

Pros: The hotel is very beautiful and well located in the island. Rooms are comfortable and extremely clean. Spa is also good but I expected more. Good option for families.
Cons: There are few items that impact the hotel negatively. The first is the food: basic food should be well prepared and this doesn’t happen here. Bread is too hard, scrambled eggs were served dry, there were smelly areas in the restaurant. Meals not included are extremely expensive for what they serve. Staff, although very nice, has, in average, lower intermediate level of English and do get confused with information. The beach, to our surprise, is dirty and often we found plastic around - the hotel staff maintains people cleaning, so it’s not a problem of the hotel, but probably a cultural issue because the plastic arrives with the tides. Another issue with the beach is that the sand is mixed with LOTS of shells, so it’s difficult to walk.

Cons: 1) There weren't many vegetarian options in the pool bar menu. 2) The spa doesn't have many facilities. It only has a steam room and you can only use it if you pay an extra charge. 3) Access to steam room should not be charged if you are having a spa treatment.

Cons: Impossibility of finding a space on the beach or around the pool at any reasonable time in the morning as detailed above. Description of accommodation as 'villa' somewhat misleading. Ours like most was a ground floor unit with another above all packed in closely making the courtyard garden and plunge pool rather claustrophobic. I expected something more open and spacious for the premium price paid.

It’s a bit far from the center village.. but if you are looking for some quiet in a beautiful scenery this is the place... my only problem was the price of the room per night. I came during the New Years wave and I ended up paying $1700 for 5 nights. It’s very expensive relatively to other properties at the location that looked also great.( so search before you book... i didn’t search enough and when I got there I had to pay in advance and I was ahocked and a bit disappointed.. ( eventually it’s Thailand .. not Europe)

Pros: This place is AMAZING, feels like a retreat. The rooms are very spacious, bed is like a cloud, the ability to change lighting etc with the controls is wonderful. The place really is worth the money. The amount of personal touches really makes a difference and this place was full of them, from check in to check out i had no issues with the facilities, food, rooms and most importantly the pool. The red pool is an amazing touch and is just so different. Everything about this place is so unique and would love to stay again.

Cons: I understand the staff don’t want you to swim in the sea as it is very choppy. My partner and I had a 2 minute walk along the beach with my toe literally barely touching the water, we had no intentions of going into the sea and were simply having a walk along. The member of staff/security literally came right along to us and told us not to go in. Actually very annoying considering he told us this the day before and we had to issues so why he felt the need to chase along the beach for this was a bit extreme considering we were literally no where near the water. And really if i want to take the chance and go for a swim thats my choice.

Pros: spent 5 nights here with a friend. Hotel and staff The hotel is well situated on a quiet part of Chaweng beach but a short walk to the centre of town to bars and restaurants. The staff were all incredibly attentive and kind. There was one incident of very noisy people by the pool playing loud music but the hotel staff managed them very well and courteously. It was low season so getting a sun bed right on the beach was not a problem. I order to swim in the sea but the pool looked lovely and clean. Food Breakfast was by far one of the best I have had. Chef Christopher runs a very efficient kitchen and delivered out breakfast himself every morning which was a nice touch. There was a small selection of Thai food daily. A good selection of fresh fruit and fresh juices. I pretty much tried everything in the menu. Eggs Benedict with bacon was out of this world as were the waffles! Snacks at the bar were also delicious and I would recommend the spring rolls as all fresh. Rooms Rooms were very clean and spacious. I had a luxury room overlooking the sea. Lovely big bathrooms with shower and a bath. Pros: Everything was absolutely perfect. The room took my breath away, I had a ground floor room with access to the pool. The staff were always friend and very attentive. The security guard at the beach always made sure I had a fresh towel and kept an extra eye out on my belongings so I could swim (travelling solo). The breakfast was delicious, I can highly recommend the banana pancakes. Very please with my time here. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Koh Samui. Great value for money.

Pros: spent 5 nights here with a friend. Hotel and staff The hotel is well situated on a quiet part of Chaweng beach but a short walk to the centre of town to bars and restaurants. The staff were all incredibly attentive and kind. There was one incident of very noisy people by the pool playing loud music but the hotel staff managed them very well and courteously. It was low season so getting a sun bed right on the beach was not a problem. I order to swim in the sea but the pool looked lovely and clean. Food Breakfast was by far one of the best I have had. Chef Christopher runs a very efficient kitchen and delivered out breakfast himself every morning which was a nice touch. There was a small selection of Thai food daily. A good selection of fresh fruit and fresh juices. I pretty much tried everything in the menu. Eggs Benedict with bacon was out of this world as were the waffles! Snacks at the bar were also delicious and I would recommend the spring rolls as all fresh. Rooms Rooms were very clean and spacious. I had a luxury room overlooking the sea. Lovely big bathrooms with shower and a bath. Cons: I Didn’t feel homey, mattresses are super old. All the rooms that are not villas are on the other side of the street with backyard / parking lot view The hotel has no beach access. They lie about it on their website. They only have a concrete deck directly at the sea, but it is separated by a stone wall, no sand, no beach so be careful when you book it! Staff speaks bad English Rooms was dusty Towels not clean The guests where also not the best clientele having beers in the pool already at 9am Would not recommend this place

Need to go up 3 or 4 steps to access restaurant area which might present challenge to someone with mobility issues or in wheelchair. Wish ALL hotels would put up hooks in bathrooms to hold wet towels rather than a single towel rack that cannot accomodate 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels.

Cons: First thing, the breakfast was not on point and not upto the mark. Such a lovely resort yet the breakfast was really sad unfortunately. I would love to see more variations for my breakfast as well as quality of the food. For example, the chicken ham/chicken slices seemed stale. The pancakes were dry and the croissant were chewy and did not seem fresh. Only the live egg station is what filled my stomach everyday, everything else was a major let down. Second thing, due to mosquito problems, other than repellent coil, the management should help the guests out with this problem by providing ointments or any other good remedy. Some creams were on sale which you had to pay with money, also not favourable. Third thing, I would want good restaurants to be opened for this resort! We never once had any meal at the resort other than breakfast. I want Muang samui to open good restaurants for the guests so that they can enjoy local/fresh seafood. Not once did the management adviced me to try the resort’s dine in service or the resort’s restaurant. Look at Anantara for example with their amazing fine dining option. Or Amari samui with their Italian restaurant Prezo. I think Muang samui can do better in this department.

We were moved to a room on the 1st floor which wasnt ideal with a toddler using a pram and an elderly member of our party who has a bad knee. The room also seemed to be a downgrade. The gym was possibly the smallest gym in the world. No room whatsoever to do a workout. The hotel says on its website it has facilities but it doesn't you have to pay to use the gym at the next door Hotel. Breakfast was nice but not a great choice, pretty basic food. Eating same food everyday.

Cons: We did not like the bed, it is a little too hard for us. This is a matter of personal preference as there are guest that prefer hard mattress whilst we like it plush with extra pillows. There were only 2 pillows provided, I am sure the hotel would have proved extra pillows if we have requested but we did not do so. Rooms rates were a little high even for super peak period so not much value in that sense.

Cons: The breakfasts, light lunches at the Chomtolay Restaurant including the dinners at the Red Snapper Restaurant on the property were well above average. In my view, it would be great if Chaweng Regent Beach Resort look in to some halaal options for their guests. None the less, we came by.

Cons: There were a lot of mosquitos. The housekeeping was very slow. We left in the morning and came back at 4:00 and our rooms were still not clean. Then we had to wait another hour for towels. It didn’t seem like the rooms were cleaned with chemicals, just water.

Cons: The walls were thin. The bathroom was essentially outside, therefore not air conditioned. This also meant cigarette smoke drift came into our room from close by neighbouring balconies. As we were leaving Koh Samui on an early morning flight, I settled the room tab the night before. This meant when we left at 6:30am the bell boy made an awful seen yelling at my wife and I that we cannot leave and they must check the room first. When I explained we had settled our account he continued to be extremely aggressive and saying we could not leave until they “checked the room” I then had to load my own bags into my rental vehicle and left in a hail of yelling. No thanks for our stay!

Pros: Rooms were ok. A little old. Pool and beach view from the pool was nice but the water play areas could be improved- they were not very clean and the water cannons were not working well. Staff were friendly and very helpful but not all spoke good English so sometimes they had trouble understanding what we wanted exactly. Rooms were clean enough but Aircon was noisy at night. Restaurant food was not too bad. Spa was amazing.

Cons: The room we stayed in had a conjoining room next door. Unfortunately, the sound travelled very loudly into our room which meant that we couldn’t sleep. Our neighbours were incredibly inconsiderate playing music all night - obviously not the hotels fault - however, I do have some suggestions for improvement: 1. The reception should have ear plugs to hand out to visitors on request to counteract noise issues 2. The hotel needs to improve its complaints management system

Cons: The service of the hotel is not that great. They are not accommodating. The room service ends at 11:30pm which is very inconvenient. On the first day I landed it was after 11:30 pm and I was starving. I was shocked when I tried to order food and figured out it’s already closed. On New Year’s Eve My wife was sick in bed all Day and didn’t leave the room. Again they closed room service at 4pm to prepare for the gala dinner! While I understand the focus is on the celebration at midnight but what about accommodating guests that just want food in the room? When I asked to speak to a manager: 1. I was ignored because the manager was busy preparing for the gala. I had to call back several times to catch him 2. The manager said that If I am with her, can’t I go get her food? While the hotel is beautiful I believe the service is what makes it or breaks it. When I go back to Samui I am definitely not staying there again.

Cons: I would have preferred to have had the room cleaned more regularly.The housekeeping attended once a day which was insufficient as towels needed to be replenished.Tea,coffee and sugar etc also was in short supply.When we asked for it,it did not always arrive.The cups and saucers,glasses we used were almost always left dirty.

Cons: When booking the hotel based on the pictures and information about the hotel, you get the impression the hotel is 100% on the water side. It was miss leading. I anticipated getting a room on the side where the water was, not necessarily on the water. It turns out they have another portion of the hotel across the street. The street is busy and a pain to get to the beach. The only good part to this negativity was they did serve a separate breakfast for those people on the hillside.
They were unwilling to make a change even though they had space.

Cons: Although it’s on the beach, there was absolutely no room on the beach to take a sunbed because the sea came right up to the wall of the hotel. If you braved the waves, you could try to wade along to the actual beach further down, but sadly, Novotel beach is non-existent. Food prices. Go to small restaurants out the front of hotel for a cheaper eat.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and tried their best to meet our requests. The hotel is a 5 minute drive from the airport.
Cons: Few things: 1. The hotel is divided in two parts, beachside and the "hillside". If you have a room on the hillside, it is a good walk to the main part of the hotel and even to the front desk. A fairly busy road runs in between the two parts. It is often inconvenient to walk all the way. 2. The property is not wheelchair or pram friendly. There are multiple stairs all over and no ramp access at all. This includes access to the reception, to the pools, to the beach, etc. Rooms are located in different floors and despite using the elevators, one has to use the stairs. 3. Room service menu is very limited. And to make it worse it comes in a packed box with no plates. We actually decided to order from outside directly into our room as it was drizzling. The security did not allow the delivery boy to enter the hotel and I had to walk all the way to the front desk from my hillside room, a good half a km walk both ways added. 4. The bathroom doesn't have a door. It looks like a big room as one enters the room. This is very inconvenient if one has a child running all over.

Cons: rooms overlook a construction site but it really wasn't that noisy while we were there; but the views may be obstructed as the neighboring building goes up. Bed ok; We paid a total of $107 per night and it was ok value for that price.
