Unfortunately we didn't like this accommodation at all. It's the first time that the pictures announced didn't correspond to the reality. Our AC didn't work properly and the noise was horrible to deal during sleeping time, we advise the reception and nothing was made. Also, we call to the reception to ask they to fix the shower, since the water was running too slowly and the upper shower didn't work at all and no hot water as well. A man came by and said the shower works like that, which is not correct we know what is a shower working or not. Then, we paid an extra to get a better room with a direct access to a private pool, the pool was almost turning green, again the man who came by said that's the way it is. Then, the facilities from the hotel aren't in good conditions too, some parts of the exterior floor next to the main pool are missing, the pool bar wasn't working too and it was covered with a blanket, we try to call to the reception several times before 10pm and no one answered... This was one of the most expensive hotel in comparative to others and we are very very disappointed.
Loved the room upgrade with own dip pool. The pool was spotless.
The areas around the hotel pool need an upgrade. Loose boards and broken board on the walkways.
We like the pool, the location and the resort facilities!
Some of the staff attitude was less than desirable but considering the price I was not expecting much. The place is great but it needs a caring hand. So much potential!
When you have a lot of competition on an island like Koh Samui, a hotel business should strive to have staff who are courteous, respectful and accommodating towards their guests. It is a shame this was not our experience at all while at Baywater Resort Samui. The staff upon check-in were extremely rude. No greeting, no welcome, just immediately asked for identification. We waited quite a while for the receptionist to give us our change for the room as we paid in cash. The front desk did not have adequate change a larger bill which seemed a bit odd considering it is a larger establishment. The staff did not say 'thank you' or had the common courtesy to really say much when we were checking in. We went to our room and it immediately smelled like animal urine. The entire room smelled like urine! It was nauseating and overwhelming. We called the receptionist, and asked to change rooms and she gave my partner a lot of attitude and hung up on him mid-sentence. I am abhorred at how rude the staff were at a hotel that charges as much as they do per night. They sent in maintenance staff to check the room and they showed up with a can of air freshener assuming this would solve the urine scent.... They changed us to a new room (an "upgrade") but this time the AC filters were so old it never cooled the room down (even at 18 degrees)--there was water leaking from the vents and we woke up to a large puddle behind our bed. The pool was dirty and outdated. It appeared the tiles were cracking and brown from not being maintained in a while. I normally don't write negative reviews, but the experience was so disappointing, I would hope this review would inspire the staff to treat guests with more respect and have better maintenance of their facilities.
Breakfast was a bit like amount for a lot of guests. The location is good
Building maintenance is zero. The staff looks at the phones instead of cleaning. The hotel manager needs to be actively involved. When paying for our friends' second stay, they were charged 2% on the declared value..... That's not how it's done...
