Loved Everything
Booked our one night stay about 6 months earlier through the internet after an extensive search of the area. We were not disappointed. While we booked a simple double room for the night we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite. The location offered excellent access to all Killarney attractions as well as the downtown area. Unable to comment on the food since we never ate here but prices on the menu looked rather steep. Our travels brought us throughout Ireland only staying in hotels for one night at a time but our stay at the Victoria House Hotel was regarded as one of the more pleasurable. Would highly recommend it to others.
Got upgraded to a spa suite.
As the title suggests, my review will be a bit skewed. We paid about $119 for a standard double then got surprised with a free upgrade. The suite we stayed in was beautifully appointed, large and comfortable. It included just about any convince you could think of including worldwide electric outlets. And the jacuzzi tub was big enough for three people. The location was perfect for exploring Killarney, and having dinner in the bar is an inexpensive and tasty option. If I stayed here again, I might pay the extra amount for the upgrade to the spa room.
The thing close to a only negative would be that there's no elevator. Not really a big deal though since it's only three two floors above ground.
The facade of the building was very pretty. The location was excellent as we were attending a concert in the INEC.
The room was too small and you could hear your neighbours very clearly. The receptionist wasn't very welcoming, we really felt like second class citizens for booking a budget room. The breakfast was more expensive than advertised.
The room we got (deluxe double) was nice, very spacious and clean. Ironing board, hot iron, hair dryer, kettle, spare pillows etc all in room. The staff was very accommodating with our initial request to change from one room downstairs to another upstairs. Great lounge and bar area.
No complaints. Stayed several times already.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great value for money and right next door to the INEC which was perfect for our stay as we were going to see a show.
The beer, heineken was terrible. Payment was troublesome, booking site said credit card wouldnt be deducted till our stay, on departure, told it had been deducted, got phone call fom hotel later to say that it hadnt been decuted, then told they had possibly decuted twice in error!
Receptionist on duty Nov 6th 2010 was a pleasue to deal with, very welcoming and friendly. We were a group of 10 friends on a night away and each and everyone of us had only good things to say about hotel. Nice rooms, a bit small but we weren't in them for long.
No residents bar
The very high standard of the hotel in general, especially the excellence of the decor of the room.
The hotel was located in a very good area, easily accessible to Killarney town centre and nearby national parks
There was no lift in the hotel
Everything, we especially liked the comfort & facilities of the room, the king size bed, flat screen tv, jacuzzi bath etc.The breakfast menu was varied & produce was fresh. The bar/lounge was bright & roomy.
can't rate the service or staff as we only stayed for one night and ate out they seemed pleasant enough though.
as above, there were no guest reviews in answer to your Q below.
no fuss, business like and very comfortable
the jacuzi bath did'nt work but we changed rooms
