The hotel itself is lovely, at least the outside, especially the view from the driveway when you enter the property and the pool side.
Our room was austere and not clean as per 5 stars hotel standard. Overall average food and service: table was not clean when we had breakfast, after we had our room service the waiter took the tray but left the room without saying a word and without closing the door! Average maintenance of the property: part of the left wing of the hotel was full of pigeons and birds excrement...
Different rules for different people. We were asked to pay for dinner in advance, that we did not want. We did not take dinner. We asked for refund. No one responsesd. Pigen poo was every where near the pool. Some one people are allowed to park near the entrance some people were forced to move cars to far away. Food quality was bad. Mean cooked was not done properly. It gave stomach troube.
The resort is beautiful, I loved the decor of the rooms and the hotel. There is lot of space to walk around.
There could be hair dryer in the washroom, there was no space to hang a hand towel in the smaller bathroom. We couldn't get our heads around the AC, it was cold, we set the temp to 27 and it was still blasting cold air. Lot of the marble was cracked and broken, however that does not cause any inconvenience.
Entering a cavernous hall lit by a 2.8 ton imported crystal chandelier we were welcomed with a wilting garland and the necessary paperwork attending registration in Indian Hotels. Time enough to examine the atrocious copies of Da Vinci, Rubens etc. decorating the ceiling. There the welcome came to a stop. Our room (190 US$ per night) lacked hot water - the gold colored faucets supplied a barely tepid stream. We immediately informed housekeeping and entertained a succession of hotel employees who were unable to remedy the situation. Tired and travel-stained we resorted to filling the bathtub with the contents of the electric kettle, a kettle at a time... The next morning we informed the front desk - to no avail. By then we resorted to the traditional "bucket water" and asked the management to supply us with two buckets of hot water. After some discussions, the delivery was accomplished. We wish to warn would be guests that after we made the reservation they tacked on "obligatory dinner fees" of 130 US$ per couple. Unless you are very fond of excessive garishness, poor service and being bilked, you are advised to seek another hotel.
Not a true 5 star hotel
The facilities are grand.
Service is not good. Wifi kept disconnecting every time phone slept, had to memorize passwords, ordered room service at 8, didn't get till 11p, asked for laundry service, delivered 3 hours late, jet lagged, try to take a shower at 3am, no hot water, guy says hot water doesn't turn on till 4am. Bathrooms finish was not up to the mark.
