We liked the location of the hotel! The deluxe room had a balcony and it was bright! The decoration of the room was also really nice! The staff was friendly and always willing to reply to our questions, especially for the transportarion within the city and calling a taxi for the airport.
The bed was supposed to be a double bed. However, there were two single beds placed next to each other with a matress on top. This is a common practice from many hotels. However, the matress of one of the beds was not in a good condition, the left part was inclining and we got a feeling like sleeping on a hill. We could hardly feel it as a double bed. The shower had also many functions which we liked a lot. However, there were some leaks probably from the door and the floor of the rest of the bathroom was completely wet (or partially flooded) after having a shower. Cleaning was supposed to be every two days. We stayed there 4 nights in total and cleaning took place only once. We wouldn’t mind that much if the problem with the shower leaking did not occur. We consider those minor issues and did not affect our holidays at all! Probably some hints for improvement!
Interior design is pretty and the location is perfect.
I was given a room with no window with natural light which was claustrophobic and the room was so small that there was no place I could have my suitcase open. None of the English tv channels were working and the isolation was poor as guests from the rooms next door and above could be heard talking and walking.
It was ok!
Dark stains on bed sheets ( bed bug) Not very clean room
The location is the best things about this hotel. The whole street is filled with small hotels like this, with little shops, kebap stalls and basically everything you need is very handy. Taksim square is 3 minutes walk away, as is the closest metro station. The main shopping street in Istanbul is 6 minutes' walk away. The area is fantastic, whatever the purpose of your trip (business, leisure, cultural, relaxing). The streets of Istanbul can be very steep, which is very uncomfortable when you are dragging a heavy suitcase along. But this hotel is at the beginning of the street, no effort required. It also has an elevator, which is quite handy, as the hotel has 6 floors.
I stayed in hotels across Turkey and Istanbul many times, including 2 right on the same street as Q Pera This was the worst. There are so many things wrong with it, I am not sure where to begin. I will list a few things: - moldy walls and ceilings in the bathrooms. Flakes of moldy old paint would fall on our head when showering. - extremely dirty toilet and sink (blood and pee tracks top to bottom, sink yellow with old dirt, disgusting) - no room cleaning at all. Nobody entered our room to clean it or to take the trash out or change sheets for 5 days. Not even once. Not even a question if we needed anything. Even if the room cleaning were for an extra fee, we could have been offered the service. But no. Nothing. - The worst beds I ever slept in. The mattresses were filthy and stained and stinky and were so old and worn-in that they had the shape of a bowl. My husband and I would roll into the middle however hard we tried to cling on to the sides. Oh, and there were springs coming out of the mattress too! - The bed was Queen size, but the duvet was tiny, not even covering the bed, more like a single duvet. Ridiculous. - The room had a mini fridge with a window and a permanent bright light illuminating the room at night. We had to cover it with clothes so we could fall asleep. Oh, and inside it was moldy and looked like it had never been cleaned. - the room had a hanger rail in a cupboard and no shelves whatsoever. There were only 4 hangers. For a double room with no shelves and no space to put your clothes on or even your suitcase. We asked for extra hangers, at least. They never came. - The wi-fi was very slow, got cut off frequently and at 10pm they switched it off completely every night. - Breakfast was a joke. We had to beg every morning for water, milk and coffee and in the end make it ourselves. Food was mediocre to say the least. The staff took ages to bring water or milk, but at 10 sharp they tried to take our plates and mugs away while we were still eating
