Full of character- very well put together
Absolutely stunning rooms in a great location in Kicking Horse near the main lifts. Brilliant friendly service. Would stay here again.
Awesome staff, particularly Travis. Nice clean room. Comfortable beds.
Only complaint is door through lobby to get to restaurant for morning breakfast was locked. Had to walk down extra set of stairs and walk twice the distance for breakfast; very inconvenient.
Great location for ski lifts. Nice breakfast, onsite pub. Peaceful surroundings. Free tea/coffee available all day.
Breakfast and dinner was served at the Copper Horse Lodge (next door, where we also had to check in), was very good and the staff, very pleasant and accommodating when we ate there. The view from our room was spectacular, but that's about where the likes end.
The phone is never answered and I don't know whether it is because they are understaffed or because the staff just don't care. When we got there we had to wait 20 minutes because the girl from the front desk wasn't anywhere to be found. When she finally arrived we expressed our displeasure that no one was around to check us in and she was very rude. Because we were at the end of a 12 day ski vacation we had a lot of luggage with us. We had to lug everything up 2 flights of stairs to our room as there is no elevator and no one to help. Not good for people in their 60's. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. We were next to the Spa (massage room) and we could hear people talking while having a massage. At 10.30pm young drunk adults started playing a very out of tune piano downstairs, that echoed throughout the lodge. They started up again the next morning at 8:00am. One night more young drunk adults were making such a ruckus that I had to get out of bed and yell at them to keep the noise down. The other thing that was disappointing was that there were no chest of drawers to put clothes in so we lived out of our suitcases and piled clothes on the floor. There was a small closet where we could hang some things, but not enough clothes hangers to accommodate what we had. Light bulbs were out in the room, an electrical board was duck taped and hanging from a stand, towels were old and hard and renovations in the bathroom looked like an unqualified teenager had done them. The photos and write ups made Winston Lodge look amazing, however we were very disappointed and would not stay there again.
