This is a budget priced hotel. Don't expect a 5 star Hilton at this price. All the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was basic but had all that I needed, a small work area for my laptop, comfortable bed, working shower and bathroom. Some leaks in the bathroom but that goes with the price tag. TV with continuous action movies (English), Bollywood, Chinese and Documentaries (English). My room was cleaned daily, fresh towels offered, new bedsheets, bins emptied. I have simple needs I didn't need so much attention. The lady who cleaned the room was very understanding when I sent her away. When I required help like spraying the room for mosquitoes she was quick to respond. Location right in Little India. Awesome, great Indian food, Roti Chanai just outside and other areas like Lebuh Chulia and Love Lane just a short walk away as is the Ferry Terminal. Georgetown is expensive for those who like a beer or something stronger. I found a "cheapish" place nearby for beer and spirits. The only (minor) downside was the Muslim call to prayers at 5:20am and 6:30 am. I took that in my stride as experiencing part of the local culture. In fact I visited the Mosque and a very friendly man showed me around and gave me a private tour, no money required. I would thoroughly recommend this for the budget conscious traveler who enjoys Indian food.
At the price, there is no need for improvement. When you pay low prices you should not over expect. I got a comfortable bed, a good nights sleep and felt very safe and comfortable.
The tv has random movie channels and streams random Netflix shows & nature documentaries from “somewhere” This makes a nice change from the usual MYTV box in cheap skate accommodations with no English channels. Location is convenient.
When I first entered the room I had no towels or curtains. A lot of mosquitos are able to get into this room, the windows mostly shut but the bathroom window doesn’t , and there is a crack in the ceiling. I didn’t check in so early to justify that the room wouldn’t be prepared. In their defence they did promptly install curtains. If this was such a big deal they could of given me another room. They had plenty rooms available. I was told very promtly on the first morning of my stay that I would not be allowed to entertain any other guests. My friend was initially only there to help me drop my bags off and give me a lift somewhere in the morning. I had to cancel on people who I had invited to spend time with me & change my plans drastically. I found this concerning as they could throw this rule out as long as they wish if I stay 2 weeks I can’t invite any other friend over, if ever? I stayed in Penang for 4 month in 2016 I have friends to catch up with & as there had been a decent food panda promotion I would rather invite them to my room to watch a movie & snack than mooch around in the blistering heat. But I was not granted this option. My friend was platonic and if I would have went out partying in the weekend and tried to bring somebody back with me they would be refused entry. For the quality of the hotel, & the location on a party area, and the fact I booked multiple nights. I was actually vary wary to extend my stay. To the point I did not just incase I found a companion on the weekend. & For that reason alone. The inconvenience of checking into another hotel over the following weekend, because of an outdated policy really soured my otherwise mostly acceptable stay. The staff were accommodating in other ways, and generally friendly. However; as I find hotels with these bizzare policies (not listed anywhere either).
Being in little india, all places of interest were nearby. Enjoyed THAIPOOSAM in Penang Street, nearby unexpectedly and fully. Even if we had planned, we couldn’t have enjoyed so much.
At 72 & 64, we should have been allotted room in first floor.

Mattress... woken up with back pain
I booked and prepaid the room for 2 nights but came here one night late and the receptionist said they still keep the room for me because they know I would arrive. Of course I would arrive because I had booked flight back from Penang. I didn't know that even I paid for the room to reserve it, they could still sell it to other if I didn't check in on time. Location is in George Town and close to Little India but there is not much to see here and around the area. Close to the Upside Down Museum and Ghost Museum. We came to the Upside Down Museum around 5:30pm and they close and we were told to come back at 9 the next morning. The next day we left early for the fight back so we did get the chance to visit it again. There is not much here in Penang.
Hotel is very old and has no elevator and too bad we had 2 piece of luggage plus the backpacks we had to carry up the stair to the 3rd floor. The hotel receptionist offer no help to carry the luggage up stair. Luckily on the way up we met some guy that we asked for help taking one piece of luggage up. Room is small has no soap no shampoo. We borrow the kettle but after boiling the water we found out there were no cup to make coffee. It's very hard to find food in the area and there is not much activities in the area except temples. We were hungry hunting for food and left the place the next morning hungry.
