RH Bayren Hotel & SPA - Gandia - Pool

9.0 Excellent (4,341 reviews)
Overview Reviews

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
7.9 Good
Pros: Bicycle hire and some lovely relaxed cycling north and South of Gandia.
Cons: They had a conference on for the last 2 days of our stay and the hotel descended into chaos. There were crowds and queues everywhere and the reception area was dangerously over occupied on several occasions. We returned late afternoon to our cleaned room to find no towels of any kind and it took over an hour of repeated calls to reception ( no number given for housekeeping) to be able to request towels for the room. They were clearly under staffed or lacking processes to deal with such large numbers of guests. Very disappointing. Also it was impossible to buy a portion of ice cream in the evening - really was there no ice cream in the hotel? NB There were no ice cream shops open close by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the property was charming, clean, and beautiful. Staff were lovely, and the breakfast was brilliant (I especially appreciated the flowing champagne at breakfast!). The pool area was lovely to sit in sun.
Cons: The pool was very cold, and even the hot tub wasn’t warm enough.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: New, modern, unadorned Hotel at the beach without much atmosphere, surrounded by similar high rise buildings. Big room with balcony, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom, very clean. Very good breakfast buffet with great variety, hot dishes, breads, fruit, cereal, fresh juice, couldn't ask for more. Dinner buffet was very good and very good value. The staff was friendly and efficient.
Cons: The dining room is modern, clean and bright but has the atmosphere of a waiting room and the noise level can be deafining. The same is true for the lounge and bar area. Not suitable for romantic dinners.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff at reception Sonia especially helped me sort some things out.
Cons: That I had to leave lovely beach and facilities.
7.9 Good
Pros: Close to the beach. Good buffet breakfast.
Cons: Bad acoustics in the main area’s: lounch, dining area. Makes it very noisy.

6.7 Good
Pros: Excellent dinner and breakfast
Cons: Not much going on in the area, a lot seemed closed because of time of year.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: close to the beach but far from the center (about 5 km)
Cons: if you want to relax you'd better choose another place because in this hotel is always so much noise, at nights they hold some kind of activities by the pool and you canchear everything in your room. also the walls are very thin and you can hear what your neighbours are speaking. The Breakfast was terrible, they serve every day the same shitty food, very very low quality. the hotel is looking very old. the AC is not blowing the cool air as it should. the bathroom doesn't have a ventilator. to sumarize, don't go there, find yourself a place worth the money
7.1 Good
Pros: Clean, air conditioned friendly staff. A note to any English visitors this is a hotel which is designed mainly to cater for Spanish customers who have been coming for many years, less so uk tourists. (Which is not a criticism, they tend to be found down the coast in Benidorm). Playa Gandía is very popular with Spanish families if visiting this area I would advise you brush up on your Spanish before visiting. Hotel V close to the north end of the beach which is very good. Food ok, buffet kind of thing, small pool lots activities aimed at families.
Cons: Can be queues for meals even lifts when the hotel is full. Entertainment can be noisy in the evening, (think bingo and children’s disco at high volume) but it’s a minor inconvenience all in all and easy to avoid. A further note. This is not a luxury hotel, it looks like a 1970’s build, but covers all the basics ok and is clean and comfortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: Pool area was not too bad but a little small and therefore was a little noisy. Difficult to find a space to relax.
Cons: Rooms a little dated. No tea or coffee in the rooms. Reception not very smart. Very noisy in the communal areas. Furniture in the communal areas was also very dated. At the other end of the grau so a long way to walk if you want to see the other part of the beach. Car park a nightmare to park in depending on the slot you are given.
6.7 Good
Cons: Food was very poor quality, and very little variety on offer. So glad we only paid for breakfast every morning, opposed to full board. As the food was very disappointing, we ended up eating out for breakfast rather than eat the breakfast on offer at the hotel. 3 small lifts in a hotel that had 80 rooms and 10 floors, people constantly queuing for the lifts, as the lifts couldn't cope with the capacity of people using them. Management need to address this, it's not a cheap hotel to stay in.
6.7 Good
Pros: We couldn't have our lunch because of the amount of people in the line. I have never seen so long queu in a dinning room hotel. The same for the dinner. Overbooked hotel. Also we had to keep the line to get a lift. Complwte disaster.
Cons: Hotel next to the beach. Great staff.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: All of it

8.0 Excellent
Cons: food was cold
5.8 Okay
Cons: Food was poor drinks selection poor Bar was poorly manage and expensive Is no point going back
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Stafff didn’t speak English but with google translate they were willing to help. Food was on point for me as an African Irish person. Room met my expectations - I even had the matress changed which was very helpful. Beech front with bus and train near buy to Valencia city. I went shopping in the town with very kind people . All in all good experience as a solo traveler Lina
Cons: No body spoke English but they spoke with me in French and google translate
5.0 Okay
Pros: The property is large, light and airy and so was our room with a good size balcony. The Nespresso machine in room was a nice touch. Bed was very large and comfortable.
Cons: We were not made aware that all bar and restaurant offers were closed for the hotel to refurb/carry out maintenance, this meant that we could not get any drinks other than those from a vending machine or the coffee machine in our room. The only food offer was biscuits and small pre-packed cakes left in the room. When we asked where we could get breakfast we were directed to the beach front but nothing opened to at least 9.30am. Additionally the way the wifi worked was not explained which meant we could not use for the first day. The hotel was pretty empty but other smoking guests were put in the rooms next to us with us which meant we couldn't use our balcony. Lastly the lights weren't working outside our room so we had someone else's personal items pushed under our door, a genuine mistake, but if the lighting had been better then maybe the correct room would have been identified.
7.0 Good
Pros: clean food good
Cons: nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast buffet had a great selection. Plenty of hot water, and good pressure on the shower. Lovely views from my 10th floor sea facing room.
Cons: Like many hotels built in this era, the sound proofing left a lot to be desired. The pillows were far to squishy.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: No wi fi no tv
Cons: Storm outside and they gave me room at last floor I had the feeling that I'm in airplane
7.0 Good
Pros: Only Nespresso coffee and some biscuits was available as breakfast
Cons: Wi-Fi facility available only after visiting the hotel reception desk and changing their initial password we were given at our check in.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Holiday was lovely, the hotel and rooms were very clean and it was evident how hard the staff worked to keep it that way. All the staff were lovely and really made us feel welcome! Thank you for a great holiday, we would definitely return.
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff was good. Especially bar at lobby.
Cons: Overcrowded. really small territory for this amount of guests.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms very spacious and moden loved our stay
Cons: Nothing atall we really enjoyed
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and comfy clean rooms. Great selection of food and even better on drink.. everything was included so you didn't have to worry about buying the wrong branded drink or whatever! Beach bar also a nice touch.
Cons: The hotel was a bit smaller than expected so felt a bit crowded at times, especially as a Spanish holiday weekend. Also thought it was beachside. I would definitely come back though and try and avoid peak times!
7.5 Good
Pros: Hotel overall is very good. We visited hotel in October, which is out of season. But anyway, hotel was busy as well. Great is, that they have own bar on the beach. Beach is nearby. Food was very good. Everything is operated by the hotel room card, which was slightly uncomfortable. Great view from the balcony in residence building. Rooms very clean and beds were comfortable,
Cons: Too noisy elevator. Very busy evening bar - i cannot imagine, how it is operated within full season, there was long queue even now... Limited drinks within the meal (lunch, dinner), because all have to be ordered when you get the table - but then catch anyone who can bring you another drink was very hard..

7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, although dinner waiters very erratic.
Cons: The food at dinner was not very good. Tuna salad had tuna added with a catapult from 50 yards. Mains all cheap products and tepid. Desserts childrens party food., blamange and jelly. I believe it was because hotel filled with Spanish pensioners on free deal so hotel catered accordingly. You would think they would give them a treat. Breakfast was Ok. Would not stay here again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, nice staff, good location and good for resting.
Cons: Too much plastic. Reducir el uso del plástico (botellas, vasos...)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: breakfast in particular was very good
Cons: The fact the food standards dropped significantly on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 of November after the "fiestas del Puente de todos los Santos".
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good size of the room. We were given a travel cot for our baby as we booked a 2 adults plus 1 child room. Breakfast was good and pretty varied but after 7 days we were fed up with it. Really close to the beach- 3min walk. We went with our 4.5months old baby and we had no problem so it is a baby friendly hotel. Reception very nice and helpful. There is a free big parking behind the hotel. We ate few dinners in the hotel and food was pretty good. The only thing not so convenient for us wat the time as we do not eat so late usually. Dinner was from 8pm to 10pm.
Cons: A bit pricey considering that we went mid October. The gym is not appealing at all.
7.5 Good
Cons: Bath room is not very clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good localization, very close to the beach with own parking space as well as free parking places around. Nice staff, good food, clean rooms, nice swimmning pool area.
Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A slick and comfortable experience - staff were helpful, and the hotel modern and well-considered.
Cons: Although the food was well-prepared and restocked, we felt there might have been more varied options - but this is only a mild criticism. We could not fault the value.

Cons: Everything was closed out of season October to January so derelict buildings and town was quite
7.1 Good
Pros: Good
Cons: Toilet
7.0 Good
Pros: We booked this hotel for one night although the hotel was good staff professional & helpful, there wasn’t anywhere open in Miramar to eat or drink after a long car journey. Lucky we drove into Daimus not only was this a pretty coastal town there were bars & restaurants open. Happy days!
Cons: Not being able to walk to bars & restaurants that were open
6.0 Good
Pros: For a summer holiday the location and proximity to the beach is excellent, The hotel was clean and well presented in the main. The Desk staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was typical continental and plentiful with bacon & eggs also available.
Cons: The shower screen was showing signs of wear and repair, and the lack of any tea or coffee making facility in the room was a big miss, You could however go down to the lobby where snack and drinks vending was available.
4.0 Okay
Cons: Bathroom and fittings left a lot to be desired. The toilet seat was 'well used' - coating was chipped off the toilet seat in several places The sealant around the bath was discoloured and not very attractive. When showering the water temperature suddently changed if other guests started to use or finished showering in rooms close by. The Breakfast bar was OK but we have had a lot better staying in other Spanish hotels. The mattress on the beds left a lot to be desired - very cheap mattress's and very hard
4.0 Okay
Pros: The room was very clean.
Cons: No tea and coffee facilities in the room but there was a fridge. Bed was very hard. Shower was in the bath with doors so stepping over with wet feet is hazardous. Shower keeps going hot and cold.
7.0 Good
Pros: Kris from reception was very helpful and friendly, the other stuff below average.
Cons: Poor breakfast
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Swimming pool
Cons: The beds are very uncomfortable!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Kris who was front of desk helped me out when we realised that I had not booked an extra day, it was sorted in seconds, the young lady at the desk was so helpful with transport issues I had. I felt very safe in the hotel and the location to the beach was wonderful
Cons: The air con unit was perhaps a bit noisy on the room, I required to put it on as the temp was quite extreme.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and professional, our room was clean, quiet and the hotel was in an ideal location for walking into the city centre.
Cons: In our room the curtains didn't close fully so I used a hair clip to keep them together. We also wanted to go for a meal in the restaurant but about 50 college students, who were on a course, were waiting to go into the restaurant, therefore, we went elsewhere for our evening meal. We didn't see other 'guests' go into the restaurant either.
7.0 Good
Pros: Hotel with nice, clean facilities in a good central location.
Cons: Breakfast could be improved and the coffee was anything but coffee. The staff at the Reception was not particularly helpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location suited my requirements
Cons: not enough TV channels in English
5.4 Okay
Pros: Clean, breakfast ok
Cons: Old furniture, thin wall. you cannot rest because everything is heard from the neighboring room or the elevator. Very noisy
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Generally a well kept hotel reasonably priced and very clean
Cons: I have to say the breakfast let the hotel down the bread was stale where it was exposed the cooked breakfast had been out ie the fried eggs burnt and the first slice of cheese was hard my thoughts were that it had been left out from last night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and warm. Family room is very spacious. Breakfast is quite good for 3 stars hotel. Amiable staff. Wifi connection is good. We just slept and left early, so for our purpose, the choice was good. There is parking places around (white and blue area), but we arrived after 22.00 and everything was occupied, so we used hotel´s parking.

Pros: Check in was smooth. Since we were in low season plenty of parking spaces on the streets. Otherwise they have also a parking space for the hotel guests. The room was nice, big & clean. The bahtroom was even bigger. The location is 5min walk from the beach, so very convinient. Around the hotel also some nice ''cerveserias'' with big TV screens.
Cons: Nothing to mention.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is basic but clean, rooms are large and the hotel is in a good location. The breakfast is buffet style with a quite a limited selection but what there is was well presented, well cooked and tasted fantastic.
Cons: The bar was closed most of the time we were there, likely because of the time of year but it was a little annoying. The rooms are a little tired but considering the price its good value for money.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast and very clean
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel
Cons: The inconsiderate guests/idiots who had no consideration/respect for anyone else but themselves. \Morons spoil t the stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location great , Staff lovely, room good, local bars and restaurants very close, beach gorgeous, only down side is at busy times the pool could be a hit on the small side.
Cons: Everything good for a short Feb stay.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: the hotel was located on a busy street where there were a number of rough street bars they are very noisy and are open for drinking and snacks until 1.30am .At midnight things get very rowdy with many drunk people in the street and road shouting and singing any many start to urine in shop entrances and in the bin area. as a result of the above we started to dread going back to the hotel knowing we would not get a decent night sleep. My wife is disabled and wheelchair bound the ramp to the hotel was too steep to push the wheel chair up so i had to ask passer byes for help The hotel is generally in need of a major revamp every where you look most things are well past their sell by date
Cons: staff interaction was nil
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We traveled during the off season. The location is perfect! Within walking distance from the beach and local restaurants. Imagine its a lot more busy in the season.
Cons: Standard buffet breakfast, cold cuts, cereal, spanish omelette... Nothing to write home about. Then again, not many guests at the time so it could be the reason for a limited selection.

Cons: Unfriendly staff at reception and the first room given to us was not suitable to have people sleep there. Bad air con with smell of tobacco. Seems like they know this. Floor 6.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, room, facilities, breakfast
Cons: Nothing for here
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The look of the hotel was classy and clean. Lovely pool area and rooms.
Cons: The attitude of one of the buffet staff was quite rude and unwelcoming
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous hotel, great location and very friendly, helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
Cons: I did not like the storm on my last day, but the hotel can't control the weather
4.6 Okay
Pros: It was clean
Cons: The wifi works pretty bad. Hard to park the car. The stuff make a lot of noise during the morning while cleaning the rooms so they wake you up even if you were not planned to be up early. They literally kick you off the breakfast table after 10:30h this is pretty bad. Why they can’t just close the breakfast room door 10 minutes before so people whom are already there for breakfast can finish in a proper way without being kick out from the table?
7.5 Good
Pros: Food was great for the 5 days we were in. Orange juice was awful but the meals (despite the daily pizza) was balanced and a wide range of food was tasted... quite nice
Cons: I didn't like the front door of the Hotel - a 90 cm door that hardly allow us to get in with the Baby Pram Stroller. And is manual, not even an automatic door. Quite frustrating and old

2.9 Mediocre
Cons: Me and my husband were staying there on September 7-8, and the hotel room was hideous! The only plus was that the bathroom was ok, as it looked kinda renovated, but all of the rest was old and ugly. All the walls were dirty and with holes in them. Pillows underneath the pillow covers were nasty and with huge yellow stains, I saw that through the pillow case. We even found some human hair in our bedding... What is more, beds are super old and mattresses even left spring imprints all over me when laying on them, not even talking how much my back hurt the next morning. Towels with holes and stains, also loads of holes fixed with a sewing thread in the blankets. The whole room so uninviting, so we tried to stay out in the beach as much as possible. The administrator after arrival told me to pay for the room, even that is al already paid and I had confirmation. WI FI is terrible. And last but not least, breakfast are disgusting - it looks like all the cheapest and worst products are prepared, was impossible to eat and we left the hotel hungry. Frozen, not fresh products was such a disappointment. Never ever coming back and not recommending to any one!!!

We would stay there again because the room was nicely refurbished, but also because of the good feel, and that was down to the excellent staff.

Cons: The room was a bit small for 4 persons. Breakfast was decent.

7.9 Good
Pros: The room was really lovely. I came with two teenage children and instead of a standard spare bed in the room, we got an extra little room on the side with two single beds. That was a lovely touch. There was also a good size balcony - although with a bedroom for four it could have had facilities for four outside. The rooms were cleaned every day to a very good standard. The toiletries were great and I was 10/10 happy with the room. The room was completely spotless and indeed the hotel was extremely clean (aside from one part which I shall explain). You could see that the floors, windows, tables and - well everywhere inside, was cleaned thoroughly. This also meant there were literally no flies and very few insects and made everything relaxing. The staff on reception were very helpful, friendly and genuinely nice. The same for the restaurant staff. The location was very good and I have stayed nearby on a few occasions and like the proximity to the each.
Cons: There was very much we liked but there were a few aspects that need some consideration by the owners of the hotel. The first thing was the food. I have previously (recently) stayed at another 4* hotel with board included in Gandia, and the food at Principal was far inferior to the food on offer at the other hotel. This would make me hesitate to stay again as the price was a comparable price to the other hotel. The food selection here was not very good. There was repetition with the salads and not very much in the way of vegetables. There was no chef on site cooking fresh in front of you on a grill. It was disappointing given the cost of the hoilday. The quality in particular of the breakfast was poor. Tinned mushrooms, tinned sausage, poor quality bacon. The orange juice was an orange flavoured sugar water from a machine (almost criminal given this is Valencia!!!). And it was exactly the same every day. No healthy cereal such a muesli etc. Maybe I have been spoiled staying at the other 4*, but given the price was the same I think I expected the same. There were a lot of chips and lots of pork most days - and not much in the way of an alternative. You never served paella!!!! The problem is that we could see that many of the failings with the food were a sign of trying to 'cut corners' on the cost of good ingredients. However early you arrived, the food was always pretty cold. The second thing was the lack of bar staff (or fun atmosphere) in the bar as they were frequently stressed out trying to make coffee, serve drinks, take money and come out to the terrace. This is way too much for one person at peak times which are always the same (after lunch). The bar in a holiday hotel should be busy and fun and have a nice atmosphere. I very much enjoyed my sangria every evening, but on occasion if I wanted a beer in the afternoon - I very much felt I was inconvenient as it was incredibly busy and lots of people waiting around. This is not the bar staff problem.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean room. The staff were pleasant and extremely helpful, they accommodated our requests. Good buffet breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, and choice of evening meal better than some more expensive hotels we have stayed in. The staff are all very friendly and work very hard keeping the tables clean of used dishes. The reception staff were all very polite and helpful. Although we arrived very late on our first night after a long journey we were still provided with a cold buffet salad meal and drink in the restaurant. An adults only hotel so no children running around the dining room or swimming pool, wonderful.
Cons: We were a little disappointed there was no lounge area to sit and relax sometimes, just a couple of sofas in the reception area, probably due to the small size and design of the hotel. It looks much bigger in the photos but is quite small compared to the very tall apartment building in front of the balconies, only the end bedrooms have a proper sea view. We like dancing so we had to walk to some of the larger nearby hotels to do this which made a change and was just a personal choice not a reflection on the hotel entertainment which was in the bar area with only a little space to dance. The best entertainment for us was the magician. Other nights the singers or comedian did their best to compete with the usual television programmes mainly football at the other end of the bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I am a return client at this property and always enjoy my stay. The staff are fantastic, customer service, location and overall stay wonderful.
Cons: Not eating any type of meat or dairy except eggs, at times the meals in the main dinning room are a little limited for me. I would love some more vegetable options for non meat eaters. The food service in the coffee shop is limited to a ham and cheese sandwiches, pizza, olives and packaged chips. I would spend more money here if there was slightly better food choice, even if just a short snack or light menu for when one doesn't want to have a full meal in the dinning room. The beach front location is wonderful, but each time I have stayed at Riviera, I find I need to venture out for snacks or a light meal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff kind friendly and helpful. Very well located right in front of the ocean. Breakfast was the best we have had in any hotel. Clean and comfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Small quiet hotel, no crowds. The stuff is excellent.
Cons: Food choice, especially for breakfast - have seen better in spanish *** hotels (but everything is tasty). My balcony was the furthest from the sea - and it's quite far.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast was outstanding with so much choice. The room had a fantastic view over the playa. The shower was powerful. Lovely clean outside pool. There is secure parking on site and the hotel is opposite the beach. Easy to get to by bus from Gambia station. Jump on the L2 and jump off at stop 11.
Cons: Nothing to not like. If you have a complaint about this hotel then you must be the fussiest person in the world!

7.9 Good
Pros: Bicycle hire and some lovely relaxed cycling north and South of Gandia.

8.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly
Cons: Can't think of anything.
