7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely hotel, in a super place. rooms were lovely.
Cons: The room was alternatively hot and cold, we had full sun on the room during the afternoon. but the air conditioning was turned off . We were given a fan to cool the room. We were told that the air conditioning was turned off at 'this time of year'. Our stay was late October. The breakfast, lunch and dinner had a very good selection, but the buffet was laid out with a lot of re-heated food, from the day before. Many of the breakfast dishes were cold, when they should have been hot. I took what was supposed to be an omelette . it was stone cold. The door into the kitchen for the staff, was squeaking every time it was opened..... so annoying when waiters were in and out frequently.... I cannot understand how they can cope with that noise, we certainly couldn't and we were only there for short periods.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: There was nothing not to like at this hotel excellent place to stay.
Cons: Lovely central position on beach with its own beach bar.. clean and comfortable lots of great facilities.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms and friendly staff. Perfect for beach which is clear and 3 mins from the hotel. Entertainment nightly is pretty good and free. And the spa is one of the best equipped we have used. Only gripe is that more city people so found the location lacking in places to go but I don’t think this is problem for most people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dinner, room(panoramic view), staff.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location Lovely room When hotel found out it was my mums 70th birthday, they put treats and bubbly into the room.
Cons: Nothing, it was great!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing. Right on the beach. The breakfast choices were the best I have ever encountered at any hotel.
Cons: The fact that even though it was listed as a spa hotel, everything was extra. Didn’t mind the cost, but would have liked to have known beforehand that even using the indoor pool was chargeable.
6.0 Good
Pros: The Hotel was actually superb BUT (see below)
Cons: We specifically booked the hotel as it is a Spa hotel, and no doubt this facility added to the basic price. Nobody told us that the Spa is out of use for several weeks, and this was very dissappointing.

9.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing atall we really enjoyed
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and comfy clean rooms. Great selection of food and even better on drink.. everything was included so you didn't have to worry about buying the wrong branded drink or whatever! Beach bar also a nice touch.
Cons: The hotel was a bit smaller than expected so felt a bit crowded at times, especially as a Spanish holiday weekend. Also thought it was beachside. I would definitely come back though and try and avoid peak times!
7.5 Good
Pros: Hotel overall is very good. We visited hotel in October, which is out of season. But anyway, hotel was busy as well. Great is, that they have own bar on the beach. Beach is nearby. Food was very good. Everything is operated by the hotel room card, which was slightly uncomfortable. Great view from the balcony in residence building. Rooms very clean and beds were comfortable,
Cons: Too noisy elevator. Very busy evening bar - i cannot imagine, how it is operated within full season, there was long queue even now... Limited drinks within the meal (lunch, dinner), because all have to be ordered when you get the table - but then catch anyone who can bring you another drink was very hard..

Cons: hot tubs weren't hot ! and were closed before time I was told open till only one person on reception always missing ie when I checked in and when I came down again as card didn't work and when went there again to get a towel.......possibly just unlucky !
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Music late in the evening prevented sleep
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good size of the room. We were given a travel cot for our baby as we booked a 2 adults plus 1 child room. Breakfast was good and pretty varied but after 7 days we were fed up with it. Really close to the beach- 3min walk. We went with our 4.5months old baby and we had no problem so it is a baby friendly hotel. Reception very nice and helpful. There is a free big parking behind the hotel. We ate few dinners in the hotel and food was pretty good. The only thing not so convenient for us wat the time as we do not eat so late usually. Dinner was from 8pm to 10pm.
Cons: A bit pricey considering that we went mid October. The gym is not appealing at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good localization, very close to the beach with own parking space as well as free parking places around. Nice staff, good food, clean rooms, nice swimmning pool area.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff and food provided
Cons: Beds and bedrooms not as good as some hotels bit too much noise transfer
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is perfect.hotel is located near the sea.free parking is available around the hotel
Cons: It was so noisy until midnight
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location - excellent sandy beach in 100 meters, free parking nearby with lots of free spots, there are a lot of cafes around. Nice and friendly staff. The room was above the pool and had nice garden view, but it was a bit noisy. There were a mini-bar and a free safe. The guests were mostly spanish pensioners, as well as couples with children.
Cons: The food wasn't as good as I expected. Despite of good variety there wasn't a lot of seafood, much of the food seemed tasteless. Nevertheless, desserts and choice of fruits were good, one day there was a great meat soup.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean room. The staff were pleasant and extremely helpful, they accommodated our requests. Good buffet breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, and choice of evening meal better than some more expensive hotels we have stayed in. The staff are all very friendly and work very hard keeping the tables clean of used dishes. The reception staff were all very polite and helpful. Although we arrived very late on our first night after a long journey we were still provided with a cold buffet salad meal and drink in the restaurant. An adults only hotel so no children running around the dining room or swimming pool, wonderful.
Cons: We were a little disappointed there was no lounge area to sit and relax sometimes, just a couple of sofas in the reception area, probably due to the small size and design of the hotel. It looks much bigger in the photos but is quite small compared to the very tall apartment building in front of the balconies, only the end bedrooms have a proper sea view. We like dancing so we had to walk to some of the larger nearby hotels to do this which made a change and was just a personal choice not a reflection on the hotel entertainment which was in the bar area with only a little space to dance. The best entertainment for us was the magician. Other nights the singers or comedian did their best to compete with the usual television programmes mainly football at the other end of the bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I am a return client at this property and always enjoy my stay. The staff are fantastic, customer service, location and overall stay wonderful.
Cons: Not eating any type of meat or dairy except eggs, at times the meals in the main dinning room are a little limited for me. I would love some more vegetable options for non meat eaters. The food service in the coffee shop is limited to a ham and cheese sandwiches, pizza, olives and packaged chips. I would spend more money here if there was slightly better food choice, even if just a short snack or light menu for when one doesn't want to have a full meal in the dinning room. The beach front location is wonderful, but each time I have stayed at Riviera, I find I need to venture out for snacks or a light meal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff kind friendly and helpful. Very well located right in front of the ocean. Breakfast was the best we have had in any hotel. Clean and comfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Small quiet hotel, no crowds. The stuff is excellent.
Cons: Food choice, especially for breakfast - have seen better in spanish *** hotels (but everything is tasty). My balcony was the furthest from the sea - and it's quite far.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast was outstanding with so much choice. The room had a fantastic view over the playa. The shower was powerful. Lovely clean outside pool. There is secure parking on site and the hotel is opposite the beach. Easy to get to by bus from Gambia station. Jump on the L2 and jump off at stop 11.
Cons: Nothing to not like. If you have a complaint about this hotel then you must be the fussiest person in the world!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal. The staff especially were very warm and welcoming and we felt right at home. They gave us lots of useful information about the surrounding area and transport options. We would stay there again because the room was nicely refurbished, but also because of the good feel, and that was down to the excellent staff.
Cons: Nothing
5.4 Okay
Cons: Very noisy. The hotel has music and dancing class around pool area at night. Loud music and light show until midnight. Every room over looks the pool area. You can not sit on your balcony and read a book or talk. You can’t sleep due to the noise. Not impressed with hotel. Staff did not inform us of the event when booking room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel location is perfect, at the beginning of Playa de Nord. Breakfast was usual fare, good and plentiful. Dinner was great, not a buffet but a choice from a menu de dia. Communication with the hotel staff when we needed to reserve a parking place in advance, was excellent. They do have limited parking spots available, so booking well in advance is recommended.
Cons: The room was on the smaller side with not enough storage space. We packed for a long trip, so this may not be as important for a five-to-seven day stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I like the rest, valued for money.
Cons: I didn't like, the separate two beds, for two people.
7.9 Good
Pros: *very kind staff members *great location in the Gandia port and across the great sandy beach
Cons: *the hotel room is normal 3* room with old furniture, but clean. The bathroom smelled terribly and the exterier of the hotel need reconstruction *Meal is a la carte style,it is ok,but most of the meals was just average and definitely could be better

Pros: A lovely large room with big comfy bed, ensuite bathroom and two windows. Wonderful breakfast with everything you could want. Good coffee. I would definitely stay again.
Cons: I asked for a quiet room. It would have been except for the guests in the next room were very noisy and having a party which went on all night so sadly we didn't get much sleep. This is not the fault of the hotel though.

Cons: Nothing, everything was good.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Good breakfast at the weekend. The bartender at the reception was really a gem. He lended us some wine glasses, and double checked that they were cleaned properly. +++
Cons: Our room wasn't cleaned during the day. We hang up a sign of do not disturb when we went for breakfast. Only because we have a dog, that isn't comfortable with strangers. When we came back from breakfast we removed this sign. But, Our room wasn't cleaned for the whole day. In the afternoon we told the reception that we wanted it cleaned with changed towels and the beds made, three times! A piccolo came up with clean towels, on our first calls but after that nothing happened, Although we both ranged the phone to the reception and even visited the reception twice during the evening. On weekdays the breakfast didn't have any warm items and was a lot scarce. Which they didn't inform you about. The first morning the big toaster wasn't working at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Off season but still very nice sunny weather and worth the visit. The sandy beach was the best we have seen in Spain. Hotel clean and friendly. Did not use restaurant
Cons: No coffee pot in room.

7.9 Good
Pros: The room was really lovely. I came with two teenage children and instead of a standard spare bed in the room, we got an extra little room on the side with two single beds. That was a lovely touch. There was also a good size balcony - although with a bedroom for four it could have had facilities for four outside. The rooms were cleaned every day to a very good standard. The toiletries were great and I was 10/10 happy with the room. The room was completely spotless and indeed the hotel was extremely clean (aside from one part which I shall explain). You could see that the floors, windows, tables and - well everywhere inside, was cleaned thoroughly. This also meant there were literally no flies and very few insects and made everything relaxing. The staff on reception were very helpful, friendly and genuinely nice. The same for the restaurant staff. The location was very good and I have stayed nearby on a few occasions and like the proximity to the each.
Cons: There was very much we liked but there were a few aspects that need some consideration by the owners of the hotel. The first thing was the food. I have previously (recently) stayed at another 4* hotel with board included in Gandia, and the food at Principal was far inferior to the food on offer at the other hotel. This would make me hesitate to stay again as the price was a comparable price to the other hotel. The food selection here was not very good. There was repetition with the salads and not very much in the way of vegetables. There was no chef on site cooking fresh in front of you on a grill. It was disappointing given the cost of the hoilday. The quality in particular of the breakfast was poor. Tinned mushrooms, tinned sausage, poor quality bacon. The orange juice was an orange flavoured sugar water from a machine (almost criminal given this is Valencia!!!). And it was exactly the same every day. No healthy cereal such a muesli etc. Maybe I have been spoiled staying at the other 4*, but given the price was the same I think I expected the same. There were a lot of chips and lots of pork most days - and not much in the way of an alternative. You never served paella!!!! The problem is that we could see that many of the failings with the food were a sign of trying to 'cut corners' on the cost of good ingredients. However early you arrived, the food was always pretty cold. The second thing was the lack of bar staff (or fun atmosphere) in the bar as they were frequently stressed out trying to make coffee, serve drinks, take money and come out to the terrace. This is way too much for one person at peak times which are always the same (after lunch). The bar in a holiday hotel should be busy and fun and have a nice atmosphere. I very much enjoyed my sangria every evening, but on occasion if I wanted a beer in the afternoon - I very much felt I was inconvenient as it was incredibly busy and lots of people waiting around. This is not the bar staff problem.

Cons: Not much going on in the area, a lot seemed closed because of time of year.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: close to the beach but far from the center (about 5 km)
Cons: if you want to relax you'd better choose another place because in this hotel is always so much noise, at nights they hold some kind of activities by the pool and you canchear everything in your room. also the walls are very thin and you can hear what your neighbours are speaking. The Breakfast was terrible, they serve every day the same shitty food, very very low quality. the hotel is looking very old. the AC is not blowing the cool air as it should. the bathroom doesn't have a ventilator. to sumarize, don't go there, find yourself a place worth the money
7.1 Good
Pros: Clean, air conditioned friendly staff. A note to any English visitors this is a hotel which is designed mainly to cater for Spanish customers who have been coming for many years, less so uk tourists. (Which is not a criticism, they tend to be found down the coast in Benidorm). Playa Gandía is very popular with Spanish families if visiting this area I would advise you brush up on your Spanish before visiting. Hotel V close to the north end of the beach which is very good. Food ok, buffet kind of thing, small pool lots activities aimed at families.
Cons: Can be queues for meals even lifts when the hotel is full. Entertainment can be noisy in the evening, (think bingo and children’s disco at high volume) but it’s a minor inconvenience all in all and easy to avoid. A further note. This is not a luxury hotel, it looks like a 1970’s build, but covers all the basics ok and is clean and comfortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: Pool area was not too bad but a little small and therefore was a little noisy. Difficult to find a space to relax.
Cons: Rooms a little dated. No tea or coffee in the rooms. Reception not very smart. Very noisy in the communal areas. Furniture in the communal areas was also very dated. At the other end of the grau so a long way to walk if you want to see the other part of the beach. Car park a nightmare to park in depending on the slot you are given.
6.7 Good
Cons: Food was very poor quality, and very little variety on offer. So glad we only paid for breakfast every morning, opposed to full board. As the food was very disappointing, we ended up eating out for breakfast rather than eat the breakfast on offer at the hotel. 3 small lifts in a hotel that had 80 rooms and 10 floors, people constantly queuing for the lifts, as the lifts couldn't cope with the capacity of people using them. Management need to address this, it's not a cheap hotel to stay in.
6.7 Good
Pros: We couldn't have our lunch because of the amount of people in the line. I have never seen so long queu in a dinning room hotel. The same for the dinner. Overbooked hotel. Also we had to keep the line to get a lift. Complwte disaster.
Cons: Hotel next to the beach. Great staff.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: All of it
