The front desk generously accommodated my early check-in. I liked that they provided bottles of water. The water pressure/temperature was great, the room was clean, and the bedding was very comfortable. The room was perfectly suitable for a solo traveler or couple. It was very short walk to the train station, the rental car company, and lots of dining options. I felt safe and welcome there. The WiFi was good, too, and I was able to get a lot of work done at the little desk. The staff were attentive, very polite, and spoke English well.

The housekeeper accidentally walked in on me at about 9 a.m. Saturday morning, but I think it was an honest mistake. (It sounded like the room across from me checked out, so she probably just got the rooms mixed up and thought she was going into the checked out room.) Later that day (presumably because I didn't leave the room in time for cleaning) she brought me fresh towels, and more soap/water, and asked if there was anything else I needed. The TV was a little difficult to figure out at first because it had been switched to a different input. The door required turning the key to lock from both the outside and inside (it didn't automatically lock when it closed), and it had no deadbolt or privacy latch (would have prevented the unexpected walk-in!). There was also no safe in the room. Regardless, it was a great place and I'd easily stay there again or recommend it to friends!

It is near the main train station. I have read other commentaries above, stating that the neighbourhood is a little scary at nights. I check that it could be true if you walk around Worringer Platz at night, but you can easily avoid that area by taking a sort cut from the train station. All you have to do is cross the road towards the big hotel Asahi, easily visible, and you find the Alt Graz hotel opposite on the right hand side. On the other hand if you are going downtown you don´t have to cross Worringer Platz because it is on the opposite direction. Definitely what I liked is its closeness to the main train station and the confort and quietness.

It is not as close to the old town as they say. It takes 30 minutes to get to the Rathaus. And from there you must do a lot of walking to visit other places of interest. It can also be confusing to find your way.
