We absolutely loved this hotel. The family that run it are so kind and helpful. The place was always clean and tidy. When we went on our Salkantay and rainbow mountain trek we were allowed to leave our bags in the hotel for the few days which was a great help to us. All the staff are so helpful, our insurance company had to call us and they let us us the hotel phone to receive the call. We loved the location, just 5-10mins up the hill outside the busy centre, with a great view over the city from the breakfast room. We also had a little heater in the room which was a bonus.
The only small problem I will point out here is that the WiFi can be very hit and miss, but that is all.
We loved that they had heat, and hot water. In Cuzc, hot shower is not available in every hotel. So we were glad to have that available to us. Breakfast was simple but nice. The lady was there to make us eggs in any style. Coffee was excellent! This was a small hotel and the staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed staying there. This was a great deal for the money.
Friendly and helpful staff....nice breakfast, fabulous coffee!!!
The location: not too close to the busy centre (10 min walk or 5 soles taxi ride) and higher up on the hill so you get a beautiful view of the city! The room was cozy, wooden floors, comfy bed, good shower. Beds were made and towels changed every day. Staff was superfriendly and accommodating (though very little English). Very safe and nice neighbourhood.
Mind you that there is no heat, so our June-visit in the middle of winter turned out a bit cold (unless you were in bed or under the shower). The windows weren't closed off that well to keep the cold out. We underestimated how cold it would be. Be aware that throughout the entire month of June they celebrate Inti Raymi in Cusco and there will be a lot of music/noise coming from the town centre (until late). Bring earplugs! Breakfast was a bit basic and I was sick of it after 2 days. Would have loved some fruit!
Very nice city views from the breakfast room, internet worked OK, the staff was very polite. The room had warm shower and thick duvets. The hotel is located on the top of a hill, it is a bit outside of the centre but within easy reach.
It felt the pictures on booking.com did not truly represent the place which was darker and more worn out in reality. Our window faced into another building’s construction site, it did not feel very comfortable. It was very cold when we arrived but on request we got a heater.
