Pros: Loved everything about this place! It was very tastefully decorated and also very clean. The host was super nice and welcoming and the location was also very convenient. Unfortunately only stayed for one day.

Pros: From the moment we arrived and received a warm welcome (even though it was 2:00am) we enjoyed our stay in a true oasis in Colombo. Our hosts were kind and very understanding of our needs throughout our stay. We look forward to returning the next time we are in Colombo. The breakfast was truly amazing and the next time we stay we look forward to enjoying a home cooked meal.

Cons: Not being able to stay longer!

Pros: Best place in Colombo! The hospitality is on another level! I unfortunately arrived very late at night but this was no problem for the host and he helped me settle in. The breakfast is truly great! Best one I have seen in Sri Lanka after 3 weeks of travel. Great location, very comfortable bed, super clean bathroom: just absolutely wonderful

Pros: We have loved everything about our stay and cannot recommend the place enough! Fiona and Glenn are phenomenal, they helped us with absolutely everything (including a lost luggage, allergic reaction to mosquito bites, and other struggles we have encountered) and their place is simply beautiful, stylish and super clean! Special mention deserves the fantastic breakfast which was extremely filling and simply delicious!!! We really hope to return to stay with them again in Colombo and will recommend the place to anyone going that direction!

Pros: A great place to stay! This is my second time at "27" Spathodea Oasis in the city. I came back here because my first stay was simply a wonderful experience. This second time, I was able to stay longer and I got to meet Fiona, the owner, who did everything she could to make my stay as pleasant as possible: giving me a ride to a restaurant located quite far from the place, offering several times her help, and providing me with a tour guide, Sharmin, who took me to various places in Colombo, was quite knowledgeable and very fun to be with. I can't describe the kindness you receive from Fiona and her help Sita. Next to this, my room was beautiful, very clean and spacious. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: The location tasteful decor, the cost comfort of the room, the food and the staffs were all Impeccable.

Pros: Staff was courteous. The bar had great cocktails. The food was mostly excellent. The room was spacious. Great housekeeping stuff made every day of the stay feel as if it’s the first night.They also accommodated a few of my friends that dropped by to kickoff an amazing night out.

Pros: The property is rundown. I think due to the current situation. It’s not clean. The staff tried to hustle me and my friend into a smaller room than we paid on Booking.coms. The pictures of what they showed here on Booking.com didn’t match the room and we demanded for a change. Then they did.

Pros: The staff were exceptional. So professional, respectful and charming. Be good to see a few more women on their payroll though! The beds are to die for. Ultimate comfort. The design of the rooms are fabulous and the bath was a great treat for my weary feet. Food is sensational.

Pros: Very beautiful hotel loaded with history - however the price is way above what is offered. Probably better to have dinner and or / take a drink in the bar to have a peep at the hotel rather than staying there for the night!

Pros: Great location, just outside city, short tuk tuk ride or bus in, next to golf course. Staff are very friendly and helpful especially Sadhu who went out of his way, on both of my visits to Ellen’s Place. I’m going back again very soon.

Pros: We liked the location. It was in a quiet neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of Colombo City center, yet very accessible by tuk tuks and cars. There were many parks around and the swimming pool is an absolute charm. We really liked it. They were kind and helpful from check-in to check-out and even arranged Taxi to take us to the airport at a very reasonable price.

Cons: There were plenty of mosquitoes in the bedroom which they could have sprayed. However, given the location (Colombo), it is a common thing. We wish the price could have included breakfast, but aside from that, it was all really good. Highly recommended, and will definitely stay there again if I come back to Sri Lanka.

Pros: The hospitality is wonderful. There's a welcome drink which is greatly welcome in the Sri Lankan heat. The hotel has an old world charm to it and beautifully design. Its located in a neighborhood outside of the city centre so was quiet at night. Room was clean and our bathroom came with a bathtub which was a great way to end our trip in Sri lanka

Pros: This is a great apartment close to the city center. I suppose it's only 10-15 mins by tuk-tuk, and only 5 mins to a very good coffee shop. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby. The room is cozy and has everything you might need including air conditioning that's pretty much necessary in such a humid and hot climate. I can't thank enough the owner of this place, he is a very communicative and caring person. Also he has a huuuuuge coolection of vynils and old music devices i haven't even seen before in my life. The breakfast is pretty simple but cooked with love and care, the great beginning of the day. Thank you for everything!

Pros: We had such a good time at Minis Residence. Breakfast super traditional and delicious. The owner spent a lot of time with us for giving advices, taking us on a tour in his Oldtimer and we together, having great time listening to his rock collection of vinyls!! Thank you :)

Pros: The location is superb. It is very convenient to get to many places from here. The little shops on the road also had good food available and small items that you may need. It isn't far to more shopping and larger stores either. It is easy to get to most places in Colombo from here. The room was fine, and had what was needed. I appreciated the use of a tea kettle in my room, so I could make tea and coffee when I wanted. The fridge was also convenient. Owner was kind enough to help get to a place to do laundry as well.

Pros: Eranda was an absolute legend. His mum and dad are so friendly. I booked this accommodation a month in advance and Eranda organized someone to pick me up. He is a true local and grew up where he lives so he knew everyone on his street. He introduced me to the tec guy for my phone and the local takeout guy. He also organized rides for to to get around Colombo. Definitely will be staying with them again.

Pros: The host was very hospitable and allowed us to stay longer at his place. So that we could sleep after a difficult flight before travellong by car to another place.

Pros: It was a pleasant stay with interesting conversations with the host, I wish we had not been so jet lagged as it would have been nice to chat more. He was informative about Sri Lankan culture and its people, and fun fact, he loves music and vynil records. Breakfast was delicious, and he gave us good tips for Colombo. The room was nice and clean.

Pros: Eranda is such an amazing host. He goes out of his way to make your stay in Colombo a memorable and comfortable stay. He helps you plan your trip and offers some excellent food suggestions and things to do in the city. The breakfasts were delicious and the conversation and music that accompanied it were just perfect! The room is comfortable and clean. Eranda's music and car collection is very impressive. You will not regret choosing to stay here. Thank you for the great memories.

Pros: I stayed at the Rockwell for 3 nights and overall i found it fairly comfortable and quiet. The location was decent too with several good restaurants within walking distance. Staff were very helpful and breakfasts were delicious.

Cons: No complaints at all, If i was going to critique anything it would be their breakfast is not in line with most others in the price range. Praveen the chef at that time was super friendly and genuinely wanted to make us have a very friendly and tasty breakfast experience. But if we ignore the superb presentation of food and excellent service, when you think actually what your getting, 2 cheap sausages, 2 eggs, cold toast and a squeeze of ketchup, starter of fruit and a coffee or tea. I didn't have an issue as breakfast was included, but if I did have to pay $15 for that, I would have complained. Most other hotels in this price range that offer a basic English breakfast would consist of eggs, sausages, beans, hash brown, or a full sri lankan breakfast of kiribath, string hoppers etc. (again not a complaint, but a suggestion to be in line with competition)

Pros: The comfiest beds and one of the most luxurious rooms I’ve experienced for that price range. Also having your own balcony 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

Pros: Excellent value with a nicely put together & clean room, large bed, decent bathroom, central location and wonderful staff with a great positive attitude.

Cons: The room could do with some minor maintenance to bring it back up to the excellent standard it clearly was when new, however this is understandable given the economic struggles being inflicted by the global pandemic.

Cons: Staff at reception with the hotel owner had a thing for money,charged me twice on this booking,i paid at cash and they charged me from credit card again, My girlfriend booked via agoda,cheaper price,$35 and hotel informed us that they received charges from agoda,however 2 hours later when we were outside they send us an email that they cannot honer the booking since its a mistake from agoda and they asked us to contact agoda,lady at reception was being rude and try to misdirect us and kept in the lobby until we decided to go elsewhere and they let us to go pack up,informed and they said it’s hotel mistake that they didn’t update the rate,clearly at this point I don’t blame anyone but i have seen how the hotel management was greedy for few bucks and kick out their customers,i never refused to pay extra,but after receptionist confirmed to us about the well received booking and payment they decided $35 too cheap. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone

Pros: What a spectacular place! It ought to be rated 12/10, with the quaint roof top pool that we didn’t know about at the time of booking. The architecture and the interior design of the property is simply divine. The breakfast is wholesome, and the staff cannot be more helpful and dedicated. Highly recommended!

Pros: Owner and the staff was super friendly and was flexible with my schedule. Unlike many other place they didn’t come and knock at my door by reminding my checkout as I got to sleep lil extra. The ancient interior with unique Sri Lankan identity and all these classic decos are of course made my stay feels homely. Much love, highly recommended.

Pros: This was my second stay within Best Western chain. Bestwestern Colombo was far better than BestWestern Oslo. Spacious rooms, excellent job by the housekeeping team.

Pros: It is a nice clean hotel with clean and well apportioned rooms and bathrooms.

Cons: Too far from the city center which requires about 30 to 45 minutes drive. That makes it difficult for tourists and even business community. It also does not have a bar - the present bar is non-alcoholic. The restaurant facilities are basic with limited menu and the morning buffet breakfast is fairly simple. In the absence of any market near by there not many dining options.

Cons: Was booked bed and breakfast(BB) for 2 person. Once we arrived there they told they can provide breakfast only for one person. After having a long conversation they agreed to provide breakfast for 2 person free of charge. Otherwise i had to pay extra money for one plate. They should well aware about the agreements which are make with booking.com.

Pros: Heina Villa is a good place to unwind and relax away from the hustle and bustle. A short downhill walk takes you to the riverside rowing path. The villa needs some minor maintenance work but is perfectly comfortable and clean. The gardens are extremely well kept with a peaceful ambience. It was sad to see the dog chained up but as we had our dog with us it was probably a good thing as it did seem a bit aggressive. Kutty is a lovely host who was eager to please and he made us a fantastic breakfast!!!
