It was my daughters birthday and they put us in an exceptional room. They made her a birthday cake and left her a little gift. The manager Joey made sure our stay was extra special.
Everything.Fabulous staff.A little bit of heaven
The warm reception as you enter the premises is already tangible and an indication of what is to come. We were upgraded to a suit that rivals in size a big apartment. Details was to be seen everywhere from the bedding, choice of pillows and towels. We had two birthdays during our stay and both were noted and celebrated with us by the hotel. The breakfast room was so beautiful and the food was out of this world. Lazy days spent at the pool with cocktails was very enjoyable. The grounds of the Mount Nelson is absolutely exquisite and an early morning walk around it was aroma filled with all the flowers. Highly recommended
There is nothing that I can say here. Every aspect of the hotel screamed attention to detail. We had no negative experiences of incidents that we frowned upon. The only thing was the wind and Mother Nature decided that she would blow
We had an exceptional meal in the main restaurant.
Yes, we all know this is not the first world and the electricity in South Africa is regularly cut off for long periods but at these first world prices one expects the backup generator to work. The elevators stop and stumbling down the unlit corridors and stairways is lethal. No emergency lighting anywhere. Complaints are met with a shrug.
The pool and afternoon tea
I found the decor a little shabby in the rooms and some of the staff rude. Breakfast dinning room under staffed. The property not really wheelchair accessible I wouldn’t rate it one of the top ten hotels in South Africa they should go to the Saxon or the Oyster box for some tips.
