This was my second stay in this hotel. A very democratic price is unbeatable for a pricey Bratislava and I liked the feeling of certainty and reliability staying in this big hotel. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly, even a language barrier at time of the night shift wasn't a barrier. During my previous stay my single room was was on the 2nd floor, WiFi there was flawless, this time on the 7th floor WiFi kept regularly disappearing, took a rather long time to get connected for the first time. The kitchen which is shared for the whole floor is situated just next to an elevator. I was staying alone in a room for three, for this reason I first failed to discover all the cups and plates in one of the three cupboards. In a single room previously I had an electric kettle shared among me and two neighbors only, now on the seventh floor in a room for three people to make a cup of tea I had to go to the common kitchen for the whole floor. The facilities shared among three triple rooms (luckily I had only one neighbor and I myself stayed alone, so no queue whatsoever to the shower or WC) were very clean. I got only one little towel, unlike during my previous stay in a single room there were three towels as usual. The room was very basic, I was ok with it to be simply functional, but unfortunately the floor and the bedding weren't entirely clean. It wasn't the case during my previous stay in a single room (price difference was small, but quality was better in a single). All the neighbors were very calm and not noisy, the neighbourhood was also totally tranquil during the night. Good sleep, albeit a too thin pillow as for my taste. The neighborhood while returning at the hotel by the public transport (Trhovisko stop, 2 min walk) at 11 p.m. was sleepy, only few people going home, but everything felt very safe and homey.
I have found this room for three people on 7th floor to be less clean than a single room on the second floor I stayed previously. Only one little towel. WiFi was unreliable at times.
Near the grocery store. The bed is very comfortable with a warm blanket. There is hot water.
Wi-fi did not work in the room, I had to go out into the corridor or at the reception to solve work matters. Not very clean in the bathroom, there was no door in the shower room instead of the door they have a shower curtain.
The Hotel is a bit old, but was clean overall. It was nice to have tea and coffee in the room and there was a kettle supplied to boil water. There was a fridge supplied, however, you have to share it with the others, who are staying in your shared block. I booked a single room with twin beds with shared bathroom, so this was basically a block with several rooms and shared a corridor, bathroom and toilet. Perfect if you’re traveling to or from Bratislava by bus, since it’s only a ten minute walk to the central bus station.
The supplied towels were small - like floor mat / hair towel size. The mattresses are a bit hard. The shared shower does not have a lock. No extra blankets etc supplied in the room. Toilet is very small - super cramped.
My second stay, and a massive thank you to the kind receptionist for her help. I needed a boarding card printed, and she obliged, and agreed to a 2 hour extention on check out, refused any payment for either and ensured that my next stay will be here too.
This hotel has those energy saving light switches, so when you get to your floor, its pitch dark, and when you turn the lights on, you have under a minute before they automatically turn off - very energy efficient, but can you extend the cut-off time, as I can never seem to get my door open in time.
Perfect if you’re traveling to or from Bratislava by bus, since it’s only a ten minute walk to the central bus station. There are also two smaller bus stops and a tram right next to the hotel, so very easy to get to the center of Bratislava as well. Staff is also very friendly and attentive.
The mattresses are a bit hard and the shared shower does not have a lock.
