The breakfast was a huge potion and cooked fresh, however everything was deep fried including the mushrooms.
There was no heating in our room, the hotel was run down and dirty, the toilet and shower looked used when we arrived, there were sticky stains on the table in the room, when we asked for an additional blanket they refused but they did supply a heater, the receptionist did not understand me when we arrived, there is only on street parking which the local housing estate also uses.
Old dirty rough
Location. Hotel was dirty old needs a revamp Smelt Rooms were tiny
Unfit for habitation
I stayed in this hotel during the Conservative Party conference. I arrived to find a bleak place, with visible damp on the walls and spiders webs. There was no lighting in my room and the plumbing wasn't working for other delegates. There was no iron, there wasn't even a cup with my saucer to have a cup of tea. In the morning the reception was full of customers complaining that is was 'not fit for human habitation'. It looked nothing like the photographs.
Birmingham is one of the United Kingdom’s great cities, and as the second largest city in England, there are lots of different expectations travelers have for hotels located in the city. Travelers expect that hotels provide excellent value and take care of the most basic amenities with aplomb. They expect that whether they are in town for business or pleasure, that their expectations are met time and again. There are many hotels in the city of Birmingham that take this idea to heart, however one of the most successful at doing so is the Rowton Hotel.
