Great value. Relaxing break. Enormous comfy bed. Views of the countryside and River Avon from our window. We had two evening meals from the menu, although we ate in the bar (can choose from the restaurant menu). The food was a fair price and delicious. Cosy bar with a fire. Spacious hotel. The staff were helpful and professional. A 10 min walk led us to a bus stop which took us into the heart of Bath. £4.50 for a travel day pass. There was a pub nearby but we didn’t go in. Pretty grounds and a large free carpark. Free Wi-fi.
The lift only goes to the second floor, so a bit of a climb if you are on the third floor.
The location and the ambiance.
The bed was beautiful aesthetically but it needs to be fixed and to have a new mattress.
Beautiful place will come back for work
This is a wonderful old building, masses of character, incredible view, professional staff, good food, generally just really good. I wish I could have hung about there more really.
I think I recall too few power outlets for practicality. The room could be said to be fairly small. It's fair to say it was fine for one, but for two it would have been a bit cramped, arguably. Getting to it by car is a real obstacle course lol - hardly their doing of course.
The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There was a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. The hotel building is lovely with grand old downstairs rooms. The bedroom (37) was comfortable and had character with a beautiful view down the valley and across the river. There is a lift , however the main staircase is wide with lovely stained glass panels and has shallow steps so was easy to climb anyway. The restaurant was a lovely room well presented and the food was reasonably priced and very nice. We experienced both a buffet Breakfast on the Sunday when the hotel was busy, and a cooked to order breakfast when the hotel was quiet the next day and both were good. There was not a very wide selection of breakfast items but the quality of what was there was good. There is plenty of parking on site and the hotel is perfectly situated for visiting Bath, Frome and many other local areas and attractions. We really enjoyed our stay.
The room was cold in the evenings as the radiators were turned off centrally. The plot the hotel is on was a lot smaller than the pictures portrayed, not very much garden.
The Best Western Limpley Stoke Hotel is a magnificent 18th Century country house. The hotel enjoys a tranquil village location, yet lies just a 10-minute drive away from Bath and its natural hot springs. With a truly romantic setting, the hotel is ideal for short breaks and long weekends, though thanks to this wonderful location you might be tempted to stay a few more nights. Peace and quiet are ever present at the Best Western Limpley Stoke Hotel. The superbly appointed lounges, open log fires and comfortable bedrooms all see to that, whilst many of these bedrooms boast outstanding view across the Avon Valley. Originally built in the 18th Century, this country mansion is as splendid as ever, with guests enjoying the serenity of a quiet location as well as the convenience of a hotel near Bath. Of course, as one of the country's oldest cities dating back to Roman times, Bath is full of historic buildings and ruins, gardens and, of course, the Baths themselves. However, with such spectacular views from the hotel, the Best Western Limpley Stoke offers a host of its own sightseeing opportunities.
