It was nice and neat
Im a smoker.. hotel is smoke free
My girlfriend and I decided to go on vacation in Baku and of course we saw the Flame Towers and we wanted an unforgettable experience. The hotel looks amazing from the outside, the view is great and they have much to offer. You can get in contact with the personnel and they reply very quickly.
But unfortunately they didn‘t tell me what‘s going on at the moment even tho I asked. We arrived at march 15th 2020 and the corona virus was big. I asked about vacation in Baku because I‘m from Germany and everything should be fine. It wasn‘t. My girlfriend arrived earlier and made it to the hotel. I was put directly under quarantine for 5 days. Of course it was my fault but It was the first disappointment. I got in contact with the hotel and said that I don‘t care about paying for 2 people as long as my girlfriend will be treated well. But it wasn‘t the case. She was asked the first two days for the payment even though I was the one in charge for that. I gave both my credit cards in which I had more than even enough money for the stay but the hotel wasn‘t able to charge. My girlfriend came to the hotel one evening and the hotel room was blocked. She paid otherwise she would have been kicked out. Before, I asked for a transaction or paypal or anything, because it must be the fault of the hotel that they couldn‘t charge my credit cards. They didn‘t reply to this date. After my girlfriend paid, they apparently were nice to her, brought her fruits and wine and said sorry. Nice gesture but after she cried for three days in the hotel, it was a bit too late. On the last day she received a business card for the hotel and a taxi to the airport. Again, nice gesture but the damage was done. Since I never saw the hotel in person, she should tell me what‘s good and bad about it. The good things I listed above. The bad things were the smell in bathroom. It smelled very bad like someone forgot his old clothes and there was hair in the sink right away from the beginning. The room was not clean at all. Some spots were even just dirty. A No-Go for a 5* hotel with that status. In general she had the feeling that the hotel just relies on the 5* status and everything else a 3* hotel does a better job. Very disappointing.
