I liked the general hotel and layout but it was far.
I would have preferred to be closer to city centre.
Very clean and retro 1960s. Staff were friendly.
We didn’t really get a whole of info on check-in about where things were in the hotel or the cleaning service policy. The bed wasn’t a queen but rather two smaller mattresses put together, which wasn’t very comfortable. For the price, nothing was included, like breakfast or real coffee. I will definitely do an Air BnB next time. This was the only hotel I used in a 5 country vacation of Europe and renting an entire apartment from Air BnB would have been cheaper and I would have had a kitchen.
Great place, far enough from the action but only a few minutes away from the tram and 15 minutes in Uber or bike.
It was spacious, clean, had a great view over a canal, and close to all the tourist locations
Apollo was definitely on the more expensive side, payed for an extra bed and outlet converter
Beautiful well maintained hotel located close to the center of Amsterdam but outside of the very busy areas. Our room was right on the water on the first floor and it was very romantic. Staff was very friendly.
The location of our room was far from the lobby and hotel entrance and we had to go up some stairs then down a full flight of stairs just to get to our room - there’s no elevator access to our room. We had very heavy bags and it was a pain getting to our room and leaving. Shower in the bathroom has no door and floods the bathroom every time you shower.
Nice room overlooking 5 canals; great staff and breakfast
Currently undergoing renovations but still a nice place to stay. Heard no noise in my room from the work going on.
The room we got was not what we reserved.
- Clean business style hotel. - Luggage room - The other staff except MR Moriba were friendly helpful and nice. Mr Anand and Mr ha...d were very nice. - We left the luggage for 2 weeks in the hotel and it was safe.
- Airport shuttle - publicized on the web description. However the shuttles are far and few only a few times in a day. I picked the hotel for the shuttle... and ended up waiting a long while for the shuttle timing. We could not use the shuttle for our morning flight at 10 am, coz the shuttles only started after 7:30 am. I wish they allowed some flexibiity or at least had the shuttles available on a need basis. - Mr Moriba at the reception was inside leaving the reception unattended at the time of our checkout - we had to get a cab and rush to the airport and ended up waiting for him for 10 mins, had someone at the restaurant go in and look for someone. He was not even apologetic about it. It is not OK to leave the reception unattended. - Mr Moriba charged me some 4 euro in taxes, then said it was autocharged to my credit card, returned the cash.... overall he did not know what he was doing and added to a lot of delay. - Our last night of stay was at the basement - not very comfortable...with only the staff elevator access. The bath did not have a tub, and the water in the flooring overflowed to the entire flooring. Overall, we got an unfair deal with the basement room - it is not ok to charge the same price and give the basement room just coz the rooms are full. This is not what we had asked/ signed up for.
Nice breakfast restaurant
Room was not prepared by the maid with the customer in mind. Nothing was replenished by maid. Room needed to be cleaned up much better, prior to arrival.
They retained money from two Credit cards and they kept the hold for more than a week even after paying the whole bill. Awful staff
