Convenient location and interesting history
The staff spoke English very well and were very friendly. The location was right along a little convenient strip that had a grocery store and restaurant. It was about a 30 min walk into the heart of Amsterdam which was far enough to stay peaceful and close enough to do everything we wanted. The room was very large and had an interesting design to it. I'd stay here again.
With the room being as large as it was, felt a little empty. The furniture was interesting to look at but felt a little cheap. The matress was uncomfortable for both me and my friend.
The building and ease to get there.
The food was not good. Tough and took a long time to get.
The breakfast, the starsystem, the rate, the proximity of trams, the design.
Common shower on fifth floor too small and not well ventilated, drainage was blocked too.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms to suit all budgets. Good restaurant open from 7am to 1am daily. Set on the waterside with easy access to trams etc. which helps, as it is approx 2.5kms from the city center.
Only one complaint really and that is there was no wardrobe space or drawers for packing your clothes away in
Very interesting and attractive building
The hand-squeezed grapefruit juice in the breakfast buffet
Having to use a key to get into the adjacent toilet plus handwashing basin was an inconvenience
Big comfortable bed with nice pillows, spacy room, waterpressure in the shower, view on the water, quiet room (we were on the topfloor)
toilet in the middle of the room, cheap furniture, windows could only be opened a small part, curtains too light so too much daylight in the morning, shower too small and too dark, noicy corridors
close to tram stations
Room was excellent - we stayed in room 221 and it was lovely
Only comment would be that it was annoying not having a door on the shower - this meant that all four of us had to get up when someone wanted a shower, since the shower was facing the bed
cultural ambient and facilities.
lack of integrated bathroom
the hotel is very close to the city center, with 2 trams right outside to bring you to different locations, the rooms that we got were excellent even though we did not get the room that we booked for originally on the first night but did get it on the second night, some kind of mistake on the hotels part i think, but they did their best to make it up to us for the inconvenience, would most definately stay in this hotel again so long as we get the room that was promised as it was as they say truly amazing(5 star room that we stayed in on second night) but only at the rate that we paid the for the last night.
