everything is basic
On the bright side: - bartender was friendly - it’s in red light district so easy to find bars, coffee shops and peep shows if you’re into it - every room had a secure door card and lock
I shouldn’t have expected much from 1-star hotel but still: - no reception; you enter this pub and bartender handles all payments while serving drinks for someone else - room had a heavy smell of cigarettes upon our arrival - the shared bathroom door doesn’t lock, so my partner had to stay outside and keep an eye every time I used it - windows face a busy street full of drunk and high tourists shouting every night + ambulance sirens for overdosed ones. I appreciated the earplugs left for us though. - we stayed 3 nights but there were no cleaners to change our towels or empty the bins. - carpet was stained and old - the toilet had some serious mould around the ventilation - twin beds quite narrow - wouldn’t recommend for families or anyone looking for comfort - no lift and the stairs were really narrow and hard to climb up and down (proper Dutch style) So yes, you get what you pay for but as you can see, sometimes it’s better to pay slightly more and get a decent stay somewhere else.
Too noisy, smoking smell in room.
Casper and the staff are always exceedingly kind and generous. The rooms are small, comfortable and clean. The hotel is in the center of the action. The bar is a fantastic place to drink and relax!
Nothing - great.
Could have a kettle to make tea in the room
