10.0 Excellent
Pros: All perfect, breakfast amazing and very nice owner
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and most helpful. They provided a delightful breakfast on the terrace each morning and we were able to chat to other guests. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Cons: The property was difficult to find as the Google Maps/ directions sent us to the wrong place. Apparently a common occurrence with those who stayed here. Maybe something could be added to the booking notes with clear directions or what to input into your navigation.Doesn't detract from a great place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The remote location in the calm of the countryside. The very nice buildings outside as well as inside with old door very well maintained. The spacious room and efficient bathroom with window. The balcony and the huge terrace. The couple runing theplace are very friendly and speak well english and french. They are eager to communicate and give good advices to visit the surroundong. Their hazelnuts are just perfect with different flavor ( curcuma, peperocini, ...). They also have wine and we tried the white Frizante that is really good, so good that we bought some for home. Very good sleep in the calm and superb breakfast. We definitively recommend.
Cons: Noting really. The place is just charming, surrounded by vine fields which you overlook from the terrace were breakfast is served on sunny days. So definitively no bad points I can come with.

Cons: No restaurant at Agritourismo
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host gave excellent recommendations for bars, dinner, and wineries!
7.9 Good
Pros: Liked the view and the very nice farmhouse. Breakfast good, no vegetables. The people run the place are polite. Near many attractions if you drive. The ''apartments'', not regular rooms are big, bed mattress not so good, there is a full equipped kitchen shower not small.
Cons: The rooms except 2 of them are small, not any kitchen aid, small and jumpy bad, small shower place. Would say they try to give it a cozy look but not comfortable. The owner is not expert about the villages around but he try to help as much as he can.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wine list in this restaurant, its very seriusly!!!the owner its big fan from Italian wine.!!!Pool its with amazing view.
6.7 Good
Pros: The view, food and pool area
Cons: The property had two wedding during the late afternoon two nights of our three night stay. This meant we weren’t allowed to sit by the pool or use it after 6 at night once we had returned from touring around during the day. The weather was hot so having an early evening swim was one of the reasons we were keen to stay there. Added to this, there was loud conversation very close to our room until 11.30-12 midnight so sleeping was difficult for me. They need to decide if happy wedding guests are their focus or happy holiday makers at this time of the year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything- location, room, pool, staff, food, wine
Cons: Only criticism is that menu was slightly restricted if staying several nights
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is lovely, the views are amazing and the staff were friendly and attentive. Our room and the bed were very comfortable. The restaurant is great. Lots of free parking. With a superior room we had a great terrace overlooking the pool.
Cons: Overall, it was great. Things were a little chaotic at times, although there was always somebody to ask if the information wasn’t immediately obvious (eg nothing in room to say when breakfast is).
6.3 Good
Pros: Located in a beautiful area with a nice view from the restaurant and from the pool. Pool area was relaxing. Good amount of parking places. Breakfast was also nice with good variety and service.
Cons: Receptionist at check-in seemed like he couldn't care less and we did not feel welcome. Same attitude carried over to dinner where the service was mostly poor. However, there was one guy how at least tried to give a good service when others clearly wanted to be somewhere else. Overall the place has seen better days and is long overdue a renovation. Place is overpriced at its current condition and service.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly en the breakfast was excellent with fresh Orange juice. The restaurant is of very good Quality and the wine list is very extensive. The view from the hotel is astonishing over the Barolo wine fields.8
Cons: N.a.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Ricardo and the whole staff was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed a tasty dinner, wine accompaniment as well as a tour of the beautiful wine cellar. Ricardo also suggested different wines, which he sold from his grand selection. The view from the hotel was amazing and we would definitely stay there again.
Cons: The pool region could be a little more comfy (lounges, umbrellas etc) and we weren‘t able to order snacks during the day...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully located between the hills, with a great view of the surrounding hilltop villages from the restaurant and the rooms. The service was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere is cosy and familial. We would only recommend light sleepers to get a room upstairs; downstairs rooms have a window on the street side and there is some noise from passing by cars. Great location for cyclists and wine/food lovers.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent- very friendly and helpful. Great views from the bar terrace and a great location.
Cons: The bed wasn’t very comfortable. It’s a shame they don’t have their own restaurant although there were a few nearby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely nice and helpful. The view is beautiful and relaxing. Swimming pool better and bigger than expectations. We really loved the solarium area all around the swimming pool, you can relax and have a lot of privacy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Of course, we agree that resort is very beautiful, staff just fantastic. Very nice pool and landscape. An average breakfast in italian sweet style. Unfortunately our room didn't have air conditioning so we had to sleep with opened door which are situated to the main of huge patio.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very fine hotel in a beautiful area. Beautifully restored traditional country building with cozy and clean rooms. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond. Very friendly and professional. All was great. The breakfast was very good, as well as the meals we had at the property. The hotel serves a number of own production products, including hazelnut pastries and their own natural hazelnut-chocolate spread. Nice pool and lounge area. The pool is in a covered structure which is great for winter and in the summer months large glass windows/doors are open, so it is as good as being outside, perhaps even better as you can stay out of direct sun. The grounds of the hotel are very well kept and the view is just amazing.
Cons: The room we stayed in did not have air conditioning. As the weather was rather hot during our stay it did get slightly warm during the day as there was no breeze, but the staff kindly provided a fan which solved the issue immediately.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean friendly nice view Great value
Cons: Hallway lighting to room at night
10.0 Excellent

6
9.0 Excellent (162 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at B&B Douce Maison in Alba, you'll be just steps from Alba Cathedral and Teatro Sociale George Busca. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location - right on one of the main piazzas. Big room (even too big for two of us). Inside private parking was very convinient.
Cons: Shower cabin was small - there is a space for a bigger one - and was leaking. It was cold in the breakfast room, and coffee cooled off pretty quickly (the temperature was very comfortable in the room).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Central location, very friendly and accommodating staff, free private parking, flexible breakfast according to what you wanted and good coffee in the bar downstairs.
Cons: Every room is a bit different so it depends on your room but my shower favoured arty design over function.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff willing to help, even with a bit of language barrier. Loved the room, beautiful. Quiet, even lioved hearing the church bells start their daily ringing.
Cons: A bit of trouble with wifi, but what the heck. They tried to help us, just part of travelling.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent-right in the centre of Alba. Very convenient for visiting the Truffle Fair, the Duomo and in general get a feel for the town.Another good point is the private parking.
Cons: We would have preferred a room at the front part of the building-if indeed there are rooms at that part. also we did not have shampoo etc in the room, only hand soap.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. Super clean. Cool despite not having air conditioning or a fan. Great breakfast.
Cons: Only a little bit didn’t like that Sunday morning church bells went off at 7:30 right outside the hotel. Did add some charm though.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly people. Very helpful. Great weekend to be in Alba with the truffle festival but everyone soooo busy with the huge influx of people
Cons: Unfortunately internet not working for a few days and also quite slow.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly, we stayed for six days and the owners gave us a farewell gift of a wine bottle. We could park our car on site in a gated parking. The breakfast is amazing, fresh pastry served at the bar downstairs. The location is right in the center of the town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent helpful staff. Available parking.
Cons: No elevator so difficult for older customers with heavy suitcases.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect and the staff was helpful.
10.0 Excellent

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Planning an event in Santa Vittoria d'Alba? This hotel has facilities measuring 1722 square feet (160.00 square meters), including a conference center. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was amazing - great views over Barolo, and a great place from which to watch a thunderstorm. The beds were comfortable, although the rooms were 'compact', as was the shower - to be expected in an old building. The restaurant serves good but quite pricey food, and although there is a terrace, it's very enclosed.
Cons: The breakfast was somewhat dull, and the coffee fairly grim coming from a machine (no excuse for that in Italy). The pool, while lovely, had loads of wasps around it which was very off-putting, whether one was getting into/out of the pool or on a sun-lounger. The area around the pool is small - trying when there are over-exuberant children being ignored by their parents.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pkace is just amazing
Cons: Wifi is not working very well
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hilltop location in a lovely setting of numerous buildings and a centuries old tower! Fantastic meal in the on-site restaurant and the service was excellent as well! Room was comfortable with a spectacular view to the surrounding valley and hills!
Cons: Leaving!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: every think have been designed and planed for customer confort. all detailes from the room to the restaurant was clean and well organized .
Cons: maybe the weather
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Bathroom was uncomfortably small and cluttered. Quality of coffee at breakfast from machine was poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant attached to the hotel is excellent!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant and the view
Cons: The pool
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The rest was great.
Cons: Quite unfriendly. Service was mediocre/unfriendly. The restaurant is closed on sunday and monday. Taxi to the next village Bra cost us 90 euro
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay in the hotel, a time with our parents... and we will be back for sure! The personnel is very nice and accommodating. The rooms are absolutely comfortable and wonderfully designed and clean. Lovely pool outside to really refresh (!) after a good warm visiting day in the area. If you get a chance, please do ask also to book a table at the restaurant. Their menu is wisely created, delicious, and the selection of wines is excellent. Another option is to get a booking in the local village small restaurant. Typical menu and locally hosted. Exactly what we were looking for.
Cons: -
Locanda Del Pilone - Alba - Bedroom
8
8.9 Excellent (266 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Alba, Locanda Del Pilone is in a rural location, within a 10-minute drive of Alba Cathedral and Teatro Sociale George Busca. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food, breakfast excelent
Cons: A bit of noise from the adjacent room due to water pipeline
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing! On the hills with beautiful views in the vineyard and a country chic feel. It’s quiet and only 10 min from Alba which is convenient.
Cons: The pool was tiny and looked a bit cheap. The breakfast was ok but the personnel was a bit rude at breakfast. Also they were not very organised when they suggested a truffle tour (the tour itself was very good) but gave us the information for it too late (20 min before the tour started we got the directions and it was a 40 min drive so we arrived late!) no directions whatsoever and no follow up. A bit weird for a 4 star hotel to have this level of service for excursions.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was helpful and very friendly. They provided great recommendations for dinner
Cons: Hard to access front door after hours. No lift for heavy suitcases
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The situation in the middle of a vineyard is exceptional. The quality of the building has stood the test of time since it opened in 2000 when we last visited. It still has a quite calm and quality. The views and the access to open country are excellent. The hotel is comfortable and well run.
Cons: The TV system is very dated and really unusable. There are precious few english channels. I compare it to the system at our previous hotel, the Hotel Bussola at Orta San Giulio which is up to date and where you can even get BB1 and BBC2. The breakfast is a bit weak also compared to that hotel. Specifically the fresh fruit section was either a pear or and apple then dried apricots or figs. Normally some fresh melon or pineapple would be available. While the Michelin chef kindly made some gluten free bread it was rather crumbly and more like a muffin.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The spot was magical very spacious and relaxing breakfast was luxurious lunch at the bistrot with the views was amazing dinner in the arched dining room overlooking the vineyards even with rain and thunderstorms was super cosy.
Cons: The A/C was a little weak for good swimmers the pool is a little short but the views are unbeatable
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The sensational views
Cons: The Decor, a little old fashioned and no sense of Basic interior decoration e.g. Paintings, pictures and wall plates, not calming to the eye.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Amazing views, excellent albeit significantly high priced restaurant.
Cons: We were unexpectedly disappointed in our stay. Our small room had little space to put clothes to keep organized and no shelving/counter space in restroom; bed was very firm for an uncomfortable sleep evidenced by soreness after two nights; the sun shines directly into the room first thing in the morn without proper window shades for a morning rest; little privacy and porous walls disrupted sleep with guest noise too loud to mask even with white noise maker on; guests from the restaurant downstairs can be heard in the room; breakfast was unimpressive although coffee great; staff gave off a pretentious aura with cold-faced robotic service lacking friendly comfort. After touring Alba area for a couple days, many other places out there with amazing views that would prove better in these important areas of comfort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A totally relaxing stay in a superb location on a hilltop overlooking vineyards in deep valleys. The bedroom was large, traditional and comfortable: a refreshing change from modern standardised grey-and-beige minimalist hotel rooms. Excellent breakfast was served on the terrace. You can swim in the pool while taking in the view of the vineyards and the alps... Eat in the Michelin-starred restaurant or take a short trip down to Alba for a wide choice of restaurants and wine bars. The 'Pilone' is perfect for discovering the villages and vineyards between Bra and Asti.
Cons: For us, everything was just right.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Apart from the breathtaking views and the great restaurant on site( we ate there three times and highly recommend it),it's the staff who make this place amazing. They are very helpful and truly kind.
Cons: The only thing I would suggest improving is the bed and the mattress. The room is big enough for a king-sized bed and a better mattress. It would help a lot more if you're a tall person.

Pros: Good location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ivana made the stay so much more than just excellent: food was to die for. So was the wine. Everything all around perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located very close to Alba and there are lots of small villages and castles around. We were advised by Ivana with 2 small routes and really enjoyed it. If you like to visit small cute places - this hotel will be ideal for you. There is also very-very good reastaurant with local cuisine. Everything is tasty and prepared by Ivana. We strongly recomment to have at least pne dinner here to enjoy meet, pasta ans desserts.
Cons: Nothing negative.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room we stayed I was big and beautiful, a good place to rest or start your travel. The host Ivana is a wonderful person, so nice and a good sence of humor. She loves her work even it is ealy hard. Her passion is why we choose this place, you can already see this when looking through the pictures. We will definitely come back.
Cons: There is absolutely nothing disappointing to tell.

Pros: The hotel was easy to find, just outside Alba, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. We parked underground in their car park. Our bedroom was large and comfortable and very clean, the bathrooom spacious and we had a lovely hot shower. Although you’re on a busy road, the room was quiet and we had a peaceful view of the neighbours vegetable plot. You do need transport as there doesn’t seem to be much in walking distance, and our hosts suggested we try casa scapone for dinner - an agriturisme serving local organic food, just a few minutes drive away. I can thoroughly recommend. We drive through Italy a couple of times a year, and I know we will be back to the hotel, it’s a great find.

7.5 Good
Pros: We liked the pasta at dinner especially. Nice staff. Nice courtyard. Great grappa.
Cons: Breakfast rather mediocre. Sweet cakes dry and boring. Pool not built yet but neither no sunbathing/relaxation area (at all ! - in such a big property). Room was a bit dark and cold but with particular decor. There are not many opportunities in the area to just go for a walk - we ended up walking along the road. Perhaps its better for just a dinner trip from Alba. Not impressed by the wine list either.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location in the hills, can walk through surrounding vineyards. Lovely courtyard, romantic setting.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful place, interesting bedroom, very nice restaurant, 100% peace and quiet. Would definitely stay again. Very different, very cool
7.5 Good
Pros: Rustic hotel in a remote location
Cons: The menu was limited and didn’t change and the rooms didn’t have air conditioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing setting, quirky decoration, an absolute visual delight. Restaurant amazing, food very high standard with many choices. We tried their truffle dishes and the presentation and taste was exquisite. We ended up eating in on all three nights of our stay - something I don't generally do - however, I am so glad we did as we had plenty of variety for all three nights and not disappointed in any of the dishes. Their home made wine was superb - both red and white - by the carafe. They are an organic farm - fab vege, cereals & honey too.
Cons: The bed could have been softer for me - but my husband loved the firmness of it - hey ho!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, pool, quiet, I the middle of vinefield.everyting...
Cons: The bed was a bit hard.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Authentic
Cons: Mediocre food

Pros: Beautiful property, so good we’d love to have our wedding there (in our dreams!) Tranquil and peaceful, it seemed like you were a million miles away from anywhere! Staff were absolutely fantastic- warm, friendly and attentive. Restaurant was nice, not quite exceptional, but pretty good. Need a car if you are staying here though.
Cons: Not much! Only that the room was a little lacking in natural light.

Pros: Pietro the owner was fantastic!! He organized dinners for us, got us concert tickets and went above and beyond by delivering some clothes I forgot to our hotel in Asti!!! He really is the best and the location was perfect for walking around Alba in the truffle fair. Stay here for sure if you go to Alba - Pietro is a wealth of information and fun to chat with.

Pros: Pietro was an amazing host - helped us feel welcome, and provided us with 24-7 concierge services which went above and beyond our expectation. Will definitely stay here if we come back to Alba. great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location location location! This B&B is a couple of streets of the main shopping street but far enough where you can have a peaceful rest and have coffee and dinner with the locals. You have Italian breakfast across the street from the B&B and a few restaurants walking distance. The white truffle festival (when in season) is only a block away. WiFi is and available throughout the property, we got a complimentary wine of barbaresco which was quite nice. Our bathroom was spacious as was the room. To our surprise the property owner recommended a few great restaurants and helped with setting up a private wine tasting tour in the region with some stops in some quaint villages. I have to say this has been one of my favorite places to stay at.
Cons: Church bells can wake you up, but not bothersome.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Le Botti was a real find just 5 mins away from Alba. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room had a lovely vaulted brick ceiling as did all the public areas and dinning room. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi are in beautiful setting. We were amazed how we had not visited this wonderful area before now. Alba is famous for it's white truffles and wine. The countryside is as beautiful as Tuscany with its Langhe hill towns including Barolo and Barbarossa a very short car journey away. As Italian food and wine lovers we will be back next year!!!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: friendly service, very good breakfast, very good value for money.
Cons: the acoustic of the rooms are not very good. you hear the guests from the rooms around you. the bed of the single room was not very comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff really went the extra mile to accomodate all our last-minute needs and changes of programs. They were really helpful and kind with us. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped and the structure has retained an old times charm. Restaurant has a small list of option on purpose, because everything is made on-the-spot in the kitchen and we found food consistently good; good choice of mid-priced local wines (lovely). Easy to park just off the hotel at no charge.
Cons: Be aware that in our room the bathtub (with hydromassage) was not conceived to be used for showering; since there is no curtain you risk flooding the floor or - as we did - you would have to take your shower sit in the tub. Not really an issue.

5.4 Okay
Pros: Good-sized room.
Cons: No air conditioning and room was very hot. No awning or sears on balcony. Surly receptionist. Disconcerting black hair on the washbasin.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location in main square, breakfast, parking. Our room was on Square which we loved. Amazing that people were still dining at 1245 am! The approach to hotel was from an unattractive side of town and I was initially disappointed. Turns out location was ideal right in edge of pedestrian section.
Cons: There was room a/c, but not super efficient in quite hot weather! Our room was on Square which we loved. But if you're sensitive to noise, bring earplugs. No complaints from us! For some reason I thought Alba was on a hill. It's not so I was disappointed at first. See below the plusses!

Pros: Great location. Also excellent parking.
Cons: No air conditioning and only small fan.

Pros: What a great bargain find in the heart of Alba. Clean, quiet and comfortable with parking.

Pros: Such a charming hotel. It's nestled in the small town and so quaint and quiet. If you didn't look for it, you would never know it's here. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location location and excellent staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well located in the center of Alba, all restaurants and bars at walking distance. Easy access by car. Parking.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the railway station and in the centre of town.
Cons: A more traditionally furnished hotel but that is not a criticism
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very much in the center of the old town. . Excellent breakfast
Cons: Narrow elevator
7.5 Good
Pros: Large spacious bedroom, old world charm, good breakfast, great location, easy hotel access and parking
Cons: Breakfast service was sloppy, hotel getting a bit tired, overrun with tour bus crowds
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and staff
Cons: the property is dated but clean
6.7 Good
Pros: Nothing in particular really. The staff was decent.
Cons: We travel a lot and one aspect we care about is the car parking, therefore it was a criteria in choosing this hotel. However, at the arrival we were scolded for not announcing ahead that we want a parking (which was not clearly indicated anyways but they argued it was!) as their parking entrance is blocked by road works and it cannot be used. All turned good as we managed to occupy public spots just outside of the hotel as we were returning late from daily trips, otherwise quite difficult to find one during the day. The building in itself is not new, the walls are thin, the elevator is a classic piece that does the job (sometimes squeezed with other guests) and you can hear flushing toilets but not really a huge problem. During night the room can be quite noisy if you opt for an open window instead of the air conditioning, there is traffic and street noise all the time. The shower cabin is quite small and I am usually not complaining about this aspect as I am thin. But here I felt uncomfortable. Don't drop your shampoo while inside. The breakfast is typically italian, full of sweets as main attraction so we skipped it each time even if it was included with the room. We even decided to take the coffee outside as the one included was not what we expected. Other than that, all good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The building itself was a bit old and facilities were not very modern but other things cover that far more than enough. The staff was super nice and tried to help in every way. I will remember these beautiful people for good. Since this hotel was not a very modern, it even helps remind me of the true beauty of people working with all their heart. Grazie mille!!!
Cons: Breakfast is kind of simple. But it is no problem at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, kind personell, very clean!
