Pros:The cleanliness of the plane was decent.
Cons:In flight when people were sleeping the crew were loud and interrupted causing you to wake up every time there was a food service or rubbish pick up. On an 11 hour flight this became very annoying when you were trying to get a good amount of sleep. The LCD screens on the back of the seats were the worst interaction I've ever witnessed on an airplane. The touch sensitivity was like something from the 1980s and made it very frustrating to select and navigate. On top of that the screens would spontaneously restart - my boyfriend and I witnessed the same interaction so it wasn't just one seat. Boarding at the terminal was not done efficiently in Dublin. The check in process with the kiosks was set up confusing and the crew helping did not help when clearly we needed it. There were no clear signs designating check in from baggage check. Baggage check that was self check out was not clear. When we received our boarding pass it stated that the doors would close at 1:30 for a 3pm flight - we got to the airport on time and were frantically trying to make it to our gate. After confusing baggage drop off we then had 2 rounds of security that was less than pleasant and we were ushered to a ground level terminal, or what was suppose to be a terminal. There was one food outlet that was understaffed with a huge line - we realized that our flight wasn't actually going to start boarding until 2pm so we could have taken our time. When boarding began they stated we were in final boarding and to not worry it was to stress out the people who hadn't been through security yet. There was no section boarding, it was just a free for all in which everyone waiting in yet another line. Very disorganized and inefficient. I would choose another airline for my next trip to Ireland.

Pros:Crew was very nice and accommodating. After boarding was complete they moved several passengers to other rows which allowed a better distribution of open seats.
Cons:Per usual, airline food is blah!

Pros:The crew was friendly and nice.
Cons:Children were running up and down the aisle during the flight. This is not a reflection of the staff, but it made trips to the bathroom difficult and cumbersome.

DUB-JFK
Pros:Boarding from back and rear of plane made passenger loading faster. I had to purchased seats with more room to provide comfort for long flight.
Cons:In Dublin, we were sent to an area for a long wait with no decent food at all, even though the Dublin airport has good restaurants. It probably has to do with U.S. security, but certainly something more accommodating could be worked out. They had an Aer Lingus lounge, but only for business class and gold card holders, so after spending thousands on tickets, we were not allowed in. Guess the "1 percent" privileges.

Pros:I flew overnight from Toronto, Canada to Dublin and had a relatively pleasant experience. The food and drink trolleys came by quite quickly and frequently, and the food exceeded my expectations. The crew was friendly, for the most part. Boarding certainly could've been smoother... But overall, I'd fly Aer Lingus again for an overseas trip.

Aer Lingus contact information

Overview of Aer Lingus

Aer Lingus is a national airline of Ireland and operates out of its hub in Dublin. Flying extensively throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, popular vacation destinations such as France, Greece and Croatia make up a large portion of their seasonal routes. It has operated services across the Atlantic Ocean to New York since 1958 and has since expanded to offer more than 10 other American cities.

In 2015 it was bought by the International Airline Group and now exists as a subsidiary of the company alongside other European airlines Vueling, Iberia and British Airways. Codeshare agreements are in place with a number of other carriers including United Airlines, Etihad Airways, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines and WestJet. Despite having a limited number of scheduled flights through North America, Aer Lingus is able to offer a range of services via these codeshare agreements.

Preferring to use only Airbus planes, the Aer Lingus fleet is predominantly made up of short-to-medium range jets such as the A320 family. Boeing and British Aerospace aircraft have been phased out of the fleet. A distinctive green shamrock leaf is located on the tail of the aircraft. All flights within Europe operate with just an Economy cabin; however, longer transatlantic services also offer Business Class.

It exists as the official airline of the Irish Rugby Team, helping the players and staff fly across the world to compete in tournaments. The faces of star players have been detailed on the body of some of the aircraft, dubbed the Green Spirit. The regular shamrock feature is stylized within a rugby ball on these special models.
