Everything. We love this hotel, especially the Palm Lounge. The restaurant serves an amazing breakfast, and complimentary tea, coffee and cookies delivered to your room in the morning at your time of choosing is brilliant.
We were greeted at check in by a friendly and informative female clerk. She alleviated our concerns about our missing baggage and gave us great information about things to do (including information on the Elton John concert in town that night). She gave us great information on the hotel and it’s amenities. She also told us the best way to book services at the 10 Spa. We woke up Saturday morning with our luggage magically back in our hands, hot coffee and biscotti at our door and an umbrella and a taxi at the ready when we were heading out into the city. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. We loved that the bathroom had quality bath products (including L’occiatine body cream), but no wasteful mini plastic containers. Overall it was a super stay with wonderful staff.
We like the location, staff, and the ambiance of this place. People are friendly and helpful.
Finding the parking was particularly challenging this time, due to construction. Also, unclear about the rules for the red light when you make a left from Broadway on a green and it’s a red on Garry. Not so “friendly” Manitobans and one Albertan honked at us and another driver who were waiting for the light to change. It was actually quite aggressive and likened to bullying. That might be something that needs to be clearer. When walking later, saw the same thing occur as pedestrians and we, along with a cyclist almost got hit when we had the green, and right of way.
Location and soft bed
Pay for parking when your spending 150 plus per night. Toilet leaked, bad small from water, toilet would constantly run unless you jiggled the handle after each use. Small rooms, not welcoming. Remote control didn’t work half of the time. Comforter was put on our bed wrong everyday so the tag was by my face when I slept
Beautiful historic hotel with plenty of charm. The room was not large, but was romantic with canopy bed and chandelier. It had everything we needed and was well maintained, the only thing I would have liked to have was a mini-fridge. Location was great!
