The location was convenient for us. The hotel is located across the street from the train station. Must note that there are many other hotels around the train station as well. The hotel has a nice sauna, but unfortunately it only opens after 3pm. The staff is trying to be helpful. Our requests - for a kettle and bathrobes - were attended very quickly.
Here are the reason why I would never choose this hotel again and won't recommend it to couples, families, elderly travelers, or to anyone looking for a comfortable stay: 1. Rooms are tiny-tiny. We had two rooms - a single and a double. The double room was the same size of the single one. I am fairly skinny, but still could bare squeeze myself between the wall and the side on the bed to get into the bed. There is no wardrobe or closet of any kind to move your suitcases out of the way, so you have to always jump over your open suitcases and pick your clothes off the floor. There are hangers for the coats on the hooks attached to the walls. Any model does better, space-wise. 2. Acute lack of horizontal spaces to place needed items in the bathroom or in the room. In the double room, the was a narrow console and a bench at the bottom of the bed. Given a lack of space, especially infuriating was the fact that the room was clattered by useless tchotchkes. These was a type-writer on the bench...so, if you would like to use the bench to put your suitcase, you need to remove the type-writer first. We had to collect all that hipsters' stuff and throw it under the bed. 3. The bed is very high, while stools serving as night-tables are too low. My 76-old father had hard time climbing on the bed and descending from it. To add insult to the injury, there was a large mixing bowl attached to three legs in place of a night table in his room. His room didn't even have a console, but there was an ironing board to serve as a some sort of a horizontal surface. 4. Despite boasting four food establishments in the hotel, there was no food. If you are not into big breakfasts (for which you have to pay 24 euros), you can't get any food till afternoon, but even then there is only a limited, pretensions menu (about 5 items) at the cafe. The restaurant doesn't open till 6:30pm. We had to go to the train station to get a coffee and yogurt or a croissant.
good place if traveling by train since it is just near the station. Cool vibe but lacking in many details.
Difficult accessibility, no parking, no bag handlers or luggage carts. Rooms very small
Comfy beds, brilliant extra touches like the Bluetooth speaker and quirky decor
Having tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Great room with lovely, quirky layout. Will definitely stay there again!
Everything. Great friendly service
The location of the hotel was amazing - right next to the main station and tube lines. It was only a short 10 min walk into town. Inside the hotel it was very quirky. We went for a large room and I’m thankful as I’d hate to see the size of a small room! I liked that the hotel offered a lot of facilities you wouldn’t normally get, bbc1 and bbc2, speakers, a bag, etc. All in all I loved this hotel and the reception staff were really friendly. Location was the biggest plus!
I didn’t like how the double bed was two singles put together. On our final day we got rudely interpreted at 8:30 by the housekeeping staff trying to tidy our room. This was only an issue on the last day which made me feel like I was being hurried out. I would hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else on their stay as it is extremely rude and not an appropriate time. I should note that the rest of the staff (bar and reception) were extremely friendly and were great with knowledge about how to get around the city.
