Very friendly and accommodating host, and it was great to have a well kitted out apartment for our family holiday. The facility has lovely interior design, but you could see little odd jobs that probably need doing that gave it a slightly worn feel. It was a little further out of town than we had expected, not having visited Dunedin before, and a little awkward initially to get to following our navigation advice and the steep roads in the vicinity, but we very quickly got used to this and felt like locals. One thing we did have to do was rearrange the furniture to watch telly! As the TV was well, well back from the couch, so we switched the position of the couch & the dinning table so we could watch unobstructed but did move everything back before we left :-) Warm, fluffy dressing gowns and slippers were provided fresh for new tenants which was lovely, and the staff were really friendly.
Whilst it was clean and comfortable, it didn't feel as scrupulously clean as our previous night's stay in Christchurch had been - there were spots on the carpet that had missed a vacuum, and the carpets looked like they were probably due a nice deep clean. There was a random hair in the bathroom - i never like that! Plus on our first night, the shower wouldn't drain and overflowed the bathroom - the manager was incredibly quick to react which was lucky cos it was after 10pm and he said he was about to retire for the night, so he sorted this very quickly fortunately. The cleaners did do a quick once through again for us on our second day which was good. We also couldn't get the air conditioning working properly - it went from 28 degrees to about 10 degrees in the course of two days and we just couldn't coax any heat from the air con. We didn't bother the staff about this and just wrapped up in the lovely provided dressing gowns.
Clean, pleasant place to stay. Front desk was very helpful and provided us with a map and suggestions of places we might enjoy. Possibly helpful for some visitors to know - there are stairs up to the accommodations and the bedroom is upstairs in the loft and the bathroom is downstairs.
Very clean. Nicely done up with new kitchen and bathroom. Had everything we needed.
Nothing really to dislike - only suggestion for the owners would be to perhaps think about having another oven tray for people wanting to cook more than one thing at a time using the oven.
Very comfortable, quiet & central to what we needed to do.
The location was good for us. It was walking distance to the Botanical Garden. There was a supermarket and some cafes and restaurants close by. We had a car so we did day trips from Dunedin. The Manager was friendly and helpful.
The kitchen was very small with hardly room to move. The car parking space out the front of the unit was quite narrow and turning around to drive out was awkward. There was only a small hanging space for clothes in both bedrooms. The bedrooms were filled up with the bed and little space around the bed to put your suitcase down.
