They over booked this hotel and relocated us to a cheaper hotel and Refused to refund a portion. We specific booked this hotel for the location overall very dissapointed with the service
Mazes were very nice
The night man was very rude
DIRT BASEBOADS AND FAN
Price and location, very clean.
"Clicking" noise from the bathroom
Decent hotel no frills
Clean Great location, lots of places to eat nearby Comfortable
Room smaller than promised No water bottles provided Noisy (street noise) Terrible view elevator was perenially cramped with guests and service staff. one more elevator or larger one
The rooms were very small
Friendly helpful staff.
No air conditioning & the window in the room opens about 4 inches. It was October when we were there & our room was hot & stuffy a lot. Glad we weren't there in the summer. Also, spotty hot water.
Fix your reservation system.
Hotel was great. staff was very accommodating.
Kayak reservation system had a glitch. Booked two rooms for two people and the hotel only received one reservation. thankfully the hotel was able to accommodate. I will not order a room from Kayak again.
Excellent location for the most part, good staf. m
Very close to the consulates, embarcadero and BART. Restaurants nearby are good - especially the Grove (comfort food). The building is a somewhat quaint structure. Price was much better than other hotels in the area. Magazines and softcover books about San Francisco were very interesting and helpful. The staff was pleasant.
No A/C during a heat spell was the absolute worst. Windows opened only helped a little and let in a lot of noise. The ice machine only on ground floor was inconvenient. Old building with mediocre maintenance. TINY rooms. The sound proofing of the rooms was nearly non-existent. It was the area of town only that made the room worth the price. This area of San Francisco, which has many 5 star hotels, also has a ton of homeless people, many of them appeared to be mentally ill, which breaks my heart. That was also a jarring environment. SF needs to do more about their homeless population. Not just get them out of sight but take care of them.
Room extremely small. Very high price for the val
Only one elevator for the entire hotel. Very expensive for a very small room. The bathroom and shower are hard to get into them. NO AC. No air condition
They know how to take the reservation. They just don't know how to hold the reservation. I was walked to a neighboring property, but when neighboring is 8 blocks away, it's not so convenient. Chose this hotel entirely on its location.
I loved the feel of the hotel and all of the staff that we met. The front desk staff and concierge in particular went out of their way to be helpful. If a person is looking for a big, ubiquitous-chain-hotel experience, The King George is not the place you want. If you want something more European and personal -- this is your place!
The room that my husband and I were in was VERY small. But we were only staying one night and the decor, the staff and the central location amply made up for the lack of square footage in the room.
