The guy who helped us in the afternoon with checking in, and the lady who was in the kitchen in the morning, both of them where supurb friendly.
Location. It was easy to get into Oxford centre. It was a 5-10 minute walk across the river from the Westgate shopping centre. The staff were friendly on check in. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was an unexpected bonus however as it was summer it was not too effective.
The hotel is billed as a 4 star however we felt this was slightly misleading based on the quality of the room and furnishings. Walls were severely marked and wallpaper was peeling. There were dust and cobwebs visible on plug sockets and skirting boards. Some plug sockets could not be used. Breakfast was served in the cafe and the choice was poor. Many items ran out part way through the morning and were not replenished. The hotel states it has parking but this is an exaggeration. There is basically a widened bit of pavement that can fit four cars at most. The hotel manager had reserved this space for builders so we were not able to park there which was disappointing. We had to leave our car in a park and ride. Upon doing this, we asked to leave our case in the hotel and was told it would be moved however when we arrived to check in it was in exactly the same place (in the middle of the cafe). In a three night stay in various hotels across South West England, this was by far the most expensive hotel and by far the most underwhelming. Perhaps we got a dud room, but we expected better for four stars. It may be advisable to pay a little more and go for the “mainstream” hotels.
Good location. We travelled with our dog on a road trip. Easy walk into the centre and two pubs around the corner - The Folly and The Head of the River. Both dog friendly. Saw some reviews on trip advisor suggesting poor service, but we didn’t encounter that. Rooms were clean
We had a really nice stay at this hotel. Great location near to town centre. The food was lovely and staff amazing!! Really friendly and helpful. They made our stay!
The room was excellent, great facilities, fridge, mini kitchen? King sized bed. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Impressed by being offered a courtesy drink on arrival Great location.
All good, nothing to be dissatisfied about.
