This New York City hotel located on Seventh Avenue at 33rd Street is across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.
Pros: Location is fantastic. Price was OK. Cons: Dirty rooms, grumpy staff, loud and busy
Cheap!Pros: The location is amazing! If you plan on only sleeping, ONLY sleeping then this is perfect.Cons: Outdated
Bad experiencePros: Location is great! Cons: room wifi signal too weak to get connected. Call operator 3 times and went to lobby twice. Reboot phone, other tricks. Not working. Staff show no patient. Told me to try another day...
Room is not clean at all. Did not want to stay here in the future.
Be aware! The hotel is going to charge you addition 20 dollar for wifi and facility. It is mandatory, although their wifi may not work!
Pros: It is in a decent location.Cons: It took over an hour to check in. When I finally did get checked in I was given a room that was already occupied. I then had to wait again for them to find me another room.
A Fair Budget Option, But BasicPros: Location excellent. You get what you pay for: if you have a good deal on this, you may decide to put up with shoddy conditions for the location and price. The included breakfast (coffee, juice, pastry from the cafe in reception) was decent.Cons: They hit me with an unexpected $17 per night charge at check in, which was not specified in the booking. There was a mouse in the first room I had (ran across the floor in front of me!) so they moved me. Generally shabby rooms and public areas.
Great location, but room unconfortPros: LocationCons: Room was very warm and temp controls did not work
Excelente service got what I payed for in the most expensive city's Pros: Clean Elegance and very rustic gets the true eccentricity for New YorkCons: The AC didn't really work need an update or worked on to get room at right temperature
Pros: LocationCons: Hidden fees, never been renovated, check in line took over 2 hrs, might be haunted
Cons: The staff was extremely rude and not helpful. During checkin I initially tried to use theit kiosk because the line was extremely long but it wouldn't dispense the keys. I ended up having to wait on the line for 30 minutes. When it's finally my turn I'm told that there is a resort fee. Now I was never told this whole booking. According to the site I used everything was paid for. I've actually stayed here before and used the same company and never paid a resort fee. I try to explain this to the woman but she refuses to listen.
Next it was time to swipe the card for incidentals but she claimed my card was declining. Apparently they need $100 deposit for incidentals. Again up until this point none of this was explained. When I begin to protest that the kiosk actually accepted my card but failed to dispense the cards iIwas told rather rudely that it probably did that because my card wasn't working. She then asked if i had another card or asked if I could call my bank. I told her I did not and I really didn't have a spare $100. She then tells me everyone needs to have money for incidentals without it she couldn't check me in and i would her to cancel. At this point i become upset. Why should i have to cancel a reservation that I already paid for because of this. The agency I booked with doesnt allow refunds the day of. I ended up having to speak too a manager to explain the situation. She proceeds to take over while the first person is protesting that I have no money. She then tells me to swipe my card. She ends up charging me the resort fee and allowing the reservation to go through. The same resort fee I never should have had to pay but I let it be because I figured paying an extra $20 is better than loosing the entire reservation.
Finally the next morning when its time to check out there is another long line with only 2 people available. As far as I conn see they are doing checkins. I noticed there is achecking. Checkout box but wasn't sure if it was ok to put the keys on there and if I needed to fill out the little envelope the keys where in first. I walk up to where one of the people at the front desk is to ask but she has another guest so I wait patiently. There was also another person waiting there who needed to check out. Once she's done she begins to yell at us that this is not a line we need to make the line. I began to explain that I want trying to skip anyone but I had a question and I wasnt sure I needed you be in the line. She again started yelling that I needed to get on line and if we needed to checkout we could leave it in the box. I tell her that's all I wss trying to ask her in the first place and just walked away.
Honestly if it wasn't simply for the location I would never stay here again. Their staff is rude, in need of training and very unprofessional. This isn't even my first incident with them. The last time I stayed there I spent over an hour on line trying to checkin only to be given the keys to someone else room
Not Going backPros: The girl at the reception desk, Amazing woman. She was very helpfull and had a lot of patiance, the cleaning crew are amazing and very friendly. great location, you are in the middle of everything.Cons: As i was walking there was a bug, the room had a stain on the floor, and the bathroom was disgusting,it was peeling of. I spoke to snother girl at the reception office to extend my night she was very rude and rejected me. I asked for free breakfast when i was looking at the hotel, i did not get any.
Hours-long line for check inPros: Got full refundCons: Never checked in. Line for the front desk was literally 3-4 hours long.
