Margosa guesthouse was only a few minutes from the beach but far enough away that it was quiet. The staff were really friendly and did a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast.
Rooms were not air conditioned, we had a fan but was still quite hot overnight
Very friendly and helpful host. The guesthouse is very central, close to the beach and main street. Very quiet and safe area. Simple accomodation, but all amenities - and very good breakfast.
2 min Walk from the beach.
The family didn't take care of us at all such as welcoming, explaining things or helping with bags. They just left our bags in the sun while we were moving things into the Shade. The room has no AC and there is no water to rinse off your feet outside so you're carrying all the sand inside the room and the bathroom. The room is way too expensive for what it is, but they are taking advantage of the location as it is perfectly next to the beach.
The location is great, nearly two minutes from the beach, but the owner does not speak English, so you won't be able to have info from her for your stay in Mirissa. They don't clean the room when you stay there only when you leave so there is a lot of sand in the shower from the beach. She let me stayed until 2 pm which is very nice of her.
Great value for money, friendly owner, great breakfast.
