Location was very ideal for our stay. Staff was very nice. Facilities offered was perfect.
The location and the service and the attention of the staff and old the emplolees
No every thing was very nice and we hope to go back soon.
The location was pretty good. Right next to a great metro station and a corte ingles. Most cab rides where between 5-8 euros. Lots of good restaurants and walking distance to plaza espana and gran via where you can start the tea for your walking tour.
This hotel is old and neglected. It hasn't been maintained to any standard for a long time. Lots of water damage and musty smell in the room, wall paper peeling of and doors disintegrating. The mattress are college dorm quality and pillows are scarce.
Overall the staff were friendly. The receptionists were very helpful and resourceful. Great location. The hotel was 10mins walk from the main strip (Gran Via) and the metro was 2 mins. It is also next to a mall.
The carpets were very dirty with stains all over. The rooms dated. Beds were uncomfortable. Overall the rooms did not represent the Marriott brand.
A total lack of compliance to Marriott's standards. I really want my money back.
Anything was as expected: in two days they never cleaned the room due to a lack of personeel. No WiFi available in rooms nor public spaces, not good for a biz trip. People in the front desk totally lost. They didn't even know if my room was prepaid. BAD!
The hotel was easy to find (walking from the Subway, I could imagine driving down the street would be very different) and the staff friendly enough. Aside from the dirty fridge, the room was in great condition and the beds surprisingly comfortable. The room key slot at the front of the room that powered the entire electricity of the room still boggles my mind and that had to be the coolest aspect of a hotel room that I've ever experienced. A fiasco with payment and being charged twice is a whole separate story that doesn't have to do with the physical hotel.
The actual space of the room and location were amazing. We had a great view of the city and an easy walk to a nearby metro station. The ecofriendliness was also greatly appreciated.
The only negative thing was there were open cans of beer in the fridge and it reeked of alcohol. It was the only aspect that was negative/dirty.
Restaurant up several flights of stairs with arrows leading up one corridor and down another
Heating far too high in bedrooms, unable to open windows
Proximity to metro station and El Corte Ingles store
Need to get a code for Wi-if every day
On the first night, we were put in a room with walls that shook, and an extremely loud, vibrating noise that went off in the all the entire night to a level that you would need ear plugs to block out. The next morning when we told the front desk about this and brought along the video with audio we took during the night of the issue, they were very nonchalant, blamed it on being an older building, and begrudgingly put us in a new room. They barely offered us an apology, and did nothing to compensate us, or try to win back our loyalty. In addition, in general, this should not be a 4* hotel as the hotel is extremely outdated, and seems to place very little emphasis on service or comfort. There were no pleasantries or additional features that would warrant such a high rating.
The hotel had a nice, big, complete gym that we could use. There was also a pool, which we didn't have time to take advantage of, but a nice idea.
The staff at this hotel are quite unhelpful. In terms of offering advice on where to go or what to do in Madrid, they are willing to give over very little information, reluctantly dug out a map for us, and generally provided us with one word answers.
