location of hotel was as expected
hotel was of poor standard for a 4star hotel. The room was disappointing for an executive room - not properly cleaned and we had to ask for the bathrobes and water. No restaurant meals available at lunch or dinner - only pub food in the bar. Service was very slow as residents were unable to book tables for meals and had to wait over an hour to be served with food. Food was not an acceptable standard for a 4star hotel. Overall the hotel was in need of refurbishment and updating.
Breakfast was fair but not great, the location was ideal, the staff were pleasant
The room was poor and had a dog smell, it had been poorly cleaned, the breakfast was ok but looked and tasted like it had been left on the hotplate too long.
Bed very uncomfortable, decor and furniture seems dull, tired and uninspiring. Could really use a huge lift in appearance as cold and stark. Bar menu very limited and not suitable for healthy options which could use a challenge on quality and appearance.
It is at good location which is accessible to great attractions. The hotel itself its located with scenic layout with large rooms.
The design is a bit confusing if you are entering from the back parking lot.
Breakfast was brilliant and plenty of choice, room was clean and comfortable, also provided a packed lunch was great as I was working during the day and nowhere close by to get food , all in all a brilliant hotel
Set in the calming shadow of England's highest fells, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake, Castle Inn Hotel, BW Signature Collection is the ideal location to explore the northern region of the Lake District. From the mysterious trails through Dodd Wood to the glorious views of the surrounding countryside, we can safely say that all rooms come with a view! Add to that more local points of interest like a nesting site of the beautiful Osprey or the majestic Skiddaw Mountain, and you'll be hard pushed to find many better settings for a truly relaxing retreat. there really is something for everyone to enjoy! Our extensive leisure and conference facilities add another dimension to this excellent accommodation, while easy motorway access makes anything possible as far as getting out and about (and beyond) is concerned. The hotel has a bronze rating with Cumbria Business Environment Network Scheme, and the family run friendliness is never ending! A pre-authorization with the same credit or debit card will be required at check-in for advance purchase rates.
