It’s got a really old character of English style hotel. It’s old but not dirty, it’s been renovated, classic furnishings and furniture. Has a restaurant and computer for guests to use. Breakfast is buffet style plus you can order a hot breakfast with all inclusive in the price you paid.
I’m sure the forks supplied in the restaurant are the wrong kind of forks we use for main meals. The handles are shorter and not comfortable to hold on.
Enjoyed the breakfast options particularly the muesli, granola, sliced bread and hot food served on hot plates! Enjoyed meals on both nights in the bar and a pint of real ale expertly pulled by Gemma along with great service she was everywhere most of our stay! Bathroom facilities. Free Wi-Fi.
Unfortunately the bed was extremely uncomfortably even thought it had a mattress topper on we could still feel the springs when laying upon, slight improvement on the second night following replacement. No hot water first morning from the shower/sink however this was rectified within an hour and unfortunately no hot water second morning prior to departure.
The bar closed at 10pm on New Years Eve for a private function. This is totally unacceptable, manager unable to do anything as booked via BOOKING.COM.
Well presented outside, bathroom was very modern and clean.
Leisure facilities very limited, changing rooms not very clean. Restaurant and bar closed for the evening and we weren’t informed before hand. Something (looked like chocolate) was splattered on the wall in the bedroom.
The staff is very friendly and works very hard Food in tavern is fine, large portions Booked bed & breakfast and breakfast was good. A bit slow during busy times Big room size Nice location, close to the lake
It needs renovation and maintenance. Some love.. Room was not clean, bath room, was renovated, had a bad smell every now and then, shower had low water pressure. Hard bed, matress cover had staines, children’s bed was worn-out. First room we got had a terrible smell, a fuell of some sort. After a complaint we got another room with no hassle, fortunately. Swimming pool is outdated, hot tub not working, games room is old. Were here during new year’s and paid 90 pounds each for 5 course dinner that wasn’t worth the money. Table magician rocked btw ;-) and staff too, they worked so hard.
