Location very convenient , staff helpful the hotel and full of character giving its name
Very old furniture, over used towels , bed sheet and pillows , room was smelling cigarettes , we can hear everything from outside , poor breakfast , no safety box, no water provided and even the small fridge in the room was empty I was supposed to spent 3 nights that I fully paid I ended up by spending one night only and left the following day
The bed was OK. The hotel offers a great view from the common roof terrace (very windy, but can be pleasant with the heat)
We found ants on and around the bed tables. The aircon in the room didn't work properly (ice was spitting on us during the night. Literally!). Breakfast is minimal, you can get something nicer outside, for little money. The price agreed with the staff increased by 25% once I had to pay (to the same staff) for no reason. Arguing isn't exactly what you wished on holiday! The noise from the street, up to 6am, is a huge discomfort if you wished for a quiet sleep.
A lovely terrace to unwind after a long day siteseeing. Any shortcomings were made up for by the friendly staff.
The hotel needs a complete renovation, cleaning is zero, maintenance not existing. Building is dirty from the outside as well from inside. Breakfast terrible. Bad experience.
A hotel with character!

When "Orient Express" reached Istanbul five years after its operation in 1883, the first hotels of Istanbul had already begun to appear, in the very cosmopolit westernized section of the city called "Pera". One of those hotels was "Hotel Buyuk Londra" or "Grand Hotel De Londres", which soon after its opening took its place among the best hotels of Istanbul, together with Tokatliyan and Pera Palace.Hotel Buyuk Londra is one of the few establishments managing to survive from that era to our time. Passing through many renovations, the hotel nevertheless still graciously reflects the atmosphere of the 1900's. With some of its rooms overlooking the Golden Horn and a lively bar, Hotel Buyuk Londra is the meeting point of many people – local and foreign- looking for something different and special.
