Very good location and very confortable room. The owners are really nice. We spent 4 nights over there. It’s really closed to the main hikings and view points (Little Adam’s peak, 9 archs bridge...). The breakfast was great (omelette, toasts, pancakes, fresh juice, fruits and coconut rotti). We recommand a restaurant 10-15 minutes from the guesthouse called Matty Hut why served amazing food. You’ve got also cooking lessons closed to the guesthouse.
The bad wifi connexion. The song of the buddhist temple of Ella which ring into the whole valley from 4:30 am to 5:30...
The service was truly amazing, we got served tea and just while we were sitting readingon the porch and were given juices on arrival! The room was large and very clean - the location is perfect only 3 minute walk to the main streets and shops, i loved staying here and would recommend to everyone!
Staff were lovely, breakfast awesome and location super.
The owner was the perfect host, he wasn't always there watching over you but if you needed anything you could get in touch super easy. The owner was really helpful and gave us alot of information about the area. Wifi was good! The room was comfy and clean, it wasn't too hot either. The shower was powerful and warm, maybe the best shower I have had in Sri Lanka
I would have liked a water refill station, happy to pay to top up my water, it's just more environmentally friendly. The breakfast was very sugary and full of dry bread, would have loved a more traditional Sri Lankan brekkie, maybe some dhal for the bread?
It is such a great place to stay if you are in Ella for a couple of nights. The three cabins are located just off the main road (5 min walking) and around 10min from the train station. Here you will stay in the middle of the jungle so maybe you are lucky and you can see some monkeys and heaps of squirrels jumping around the trees in front of your terrace. The owner and his wife are very friendly, helpflul and always happy! They provide awesome service without trying to sell anything to you. The owner was available via whatsapp all the time for us. We could just let him at what time we want to have breakfast the next day the night before. Speaking of breakfast: it's a lot and it's very tasty! If we come back to Ella we'd stay here again!
A stay at Green Lantern Inn places you in the heart of Ella, within a 5-minute drive of Kinellan Tea Factory and Nine Arches Bridge. Free self parking is available onsite.
