I stayed at this hotel a few years ago, everything was fine. This time I chose for a non-refundable rate but my visa application took longer than expected. I reached out to the hotel and described the issue. How did they respond? They did not even react.
My window was broken The tv had two channels I had no wifi in my room so had to go to the lobby every time I needed wifi The shower drain was clogged The handles in the shower didn’t work The breakfast was average at best To be honest I paid a significant amount for three days and would like compensation for all the things in my room that weren’t sufficient. I stayed in two other hotels in Dublin before that were significantly better so it just highlighted the problems with this one. The staff was great and attempted to remedy the issues but wasn’t able to and it’s not their fault.
Time of breakfast was not early enough
The lifts were not working
Fab staff and service many years staying at the central, feels like home
Majority of staff was friendly and the location was great-- you're within walking distance from anything you'll want or need.
Everything about the room was tiny, including the shower that my husband could hardly fit in. I felt dirty in my room-- there was dirt in the carpet that you could feel walking across in your socks, dirt on the floorboards, dust on the counter tops, cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling, and mold in the shower caulking. The bed was hard as a rock and they only provided 2 paper-flat pillows-- and weren't obliging when we asked for only 2 more. For the amount of money I paid for this hotel room, I would at least like it to be clean and comfortable. The Library Bar was also disappointing, especially since this was one of the main reasons I wanted to stay in the hotel. The drinks were limited, the food even more so (and the bit I tried was not worth the price tag). Even though it has lounge chairs, it isn't cozy or comfortable because there are so many people-- its been over-marketed and now is no longer that intimate place to read or chat that it originally claimed to be.
