My wife and my sister in law have said that they really enjoyed the way in which everyone went out of their way to look after them during their stay.
They liked everything about the hotel and will return next year.
no internet in room and tv small
Great location. Only 5 mins to Chester town centre and Chester Zoo.
Rather disappointed overall. We paid a lot of money to stay at the hotel, and feel let down. The food was ridiculously overpriced, and I could have made a better meal myself! The room we stayed in was a good size, however smelt stale as it had a leak, the bed was very squeaky and uncomfortable. The facilities in the room were very old and dated. Upon arrival I requested to use the laundry service (in which it advertised and you would expect from a 4 star hotel) however was told that it "wasn't available". Definitely wouldn't book this hotel again, nor recommend it. Luckily I had great company that weekend!
Food and facilities where excellent
The heating in the rooms was unadjustable and excessively hot, beyond being comfortable. Although we were upgraded and moved rooms (which we did appreciate) it was still uncomfortable making it difficult to sleep. The room s were on the front and the traffic noise meant you couldn't open the windows at night. Some of the facilities are looking tired eg Bathroom in the first room, changing rooms in the lesuire complex
The hotel was located around 5 minutes drive from Chester City centre which was very handy for going in to town, it was also only around 15 minutes drive from Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet.
Our bed was very uncomfortable, it was one of the doubles that you end up meeting in the middle of with your partner due to the dip in it. Also i think a few springs had gone as it squeeked at the slightest movement waking my girlfriend up regulary! The kids in the next room were using the corridor as a sprint track during the early evening which was a bit annoying too.
Restaurant & leisure facilities
easy car parking, good lounge / dining facilities
the food was only average, long walk and stairs to bedroom
Pool good. Grounds at back of hotel ok. Food reasonable quality
Hotel frontage not good. Rooms need updating, some good touches but then others dated. Short staffed led to delays in getting drinks at bar and food. However to its credit the hotel did refund the cost of drinks and food for the evening
Other than the cleanliness of the room nothing.
Having to compromise on rooms at arrival. Beds being most uncomfortable. Breakfast was poor, service was slow and food not readily available . Coffee was cold and it took 20 mins to get a piece of toast.
Staff very helpfull.
