The place was not very clean, especially the curtains in the bathrooms. The staff at reception was accommodating and speaking OK English but the rest of the staff was rather rude. Breakfast was average. Compared to other hotels listed as 5 stars, the overall feeling was fairly disappointing.
Good value for money, spacious comfortable rooms.
Poor breakfast selection
Comfortable, great and friendly staff. Superb service.
The lack of staff being able to communicate in english and the house keeping could improve. For example, when ordering room service, the dirty dishes remained in the room until you request it to be removed.
All about this hotel is just perfect. Nothing to say anything. My family was enjoying stay at Grand Mercure.
I was actually pretty satisfied: the room was spacious, bright, and clean room with comfortable bed and working area. Bath with spacious shower and even a tub, what shall I say? The breakfast had western as well as local options and the location was close to Beixinqiao station (although taxis are instantly available and cheaper than in Europe, but the subway is cheap, clean, and fast). The reception staff showed to be very polite and helpful and possessed even some English skills, which I had to learn is not standard for many Beijing people. Plus, there are plenty of comfortable dining options around.
Not their fault, the hotel actually did a good job with providing additional bottled water for the bathroom, but the fact that Beijing is not able to clean its water properly is disturbing...
