Plane
Rome is served by 2 airports: Rome Ciampino (CIA) and Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO). The closest to the city centre of Rome is Rome Ciampino, which is located 15 km from the city centre. Further away is Rome Fiumicino Airport, 24 km from the centre of Rome. The shortest flight to Rome from New Zealand departs from Auckland and takes around 32h 10m.
Train
Trenitalia is the most popular train carrier serving Rome, followed by Italotreno. The train journey from Rome to Naples takes 1h 06m and costs around $27 for a one-way ticket. When coming by train from Florence, expect to pay about $38 for a 1h 26m trip. Located 3.0 km from the city centre, Rome Tiburtina is the busiest station in Rome.
