Pros:Beautiful new craft.
Cons:Website is dire and does not permit online check-in although it advertises that it does. I could not retrieve my reservation even to check flight status despite providing the airline-generated PNR and the US 800 number is malfunctioning thus engendering a very stressful pre-flfight experience. The real problem had to do with two extremely intoxicated and unruly passengers who shouted, threatened and finally came to blows and bloodshed over the course of more than four hours. The crew members were wholly unprepared to deal with such a crisis and failed to restrain these men even when the situation escalated to the point where i and other passengers felt we were in a possible endangerment situation. While I would not have advocated for an unscheduled landing, I certainly feel these passengers could have been isolated and cuffed so as not to menace the best of us. It was a potentially terrifying situation in which the flight attendants utterly failed in their duty.

Pros:Crew, meals were decent on international level. Should polish their English.
Cons:During transfer from Tel Aviv flight to jfk flight we had 3 passport controls by airport personnel that had not a slightest clue what they were doing. Note that transit passengers did not leave security zone. They need to train people to international standards. We also had 2-3 security checks of carry-on luggage. I would love to use airline again, but because of the way airport handles transit passengers- will not. In Tel Aviv the person at check in stated that we are allowed only one carry-on , not an additional personal item. I pointed his attention to azal website, after which he backed off. And please be flexible on your price to upgrade to business class when it's entirely vacant and you have interested passengers. It just makes financial sense.

Pros:Not much
Cons:$30 charge per luggage piece even on international flights which is outrageous! To top it off, flight attendants can't lose that chronic constipation expression of their faces after boarding is complete... Loosen up guys, it's basic customer service to try to smile once in a while!

Overview of Azerbaijan Airlines

Known for being the largest airline in Azerbaijan, this company travels to a variety of destinations that are located in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America. Popular places to visit in Europe consist of Italy, France, and Germany, while many customers also travel to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait in the Middle East.

Azerbaijan Airlines is a member of the International Air Transport Association, a trade association that contains over 290 different international airlines. Additionally, the company maintains codeshare organizations with a variety of companies, including airBaltic, Lufthansa, and Qatar Airways.

When flying with this airline, guests are able to choose from two different travel classes, which are known as Economy and Business. An Economy ticket will come with access to the plane’s entertainment system, the in-flight magazine, the option of checking one suitcase for free, and a hot meal of your choice. With Business, you will have access to the airline lounge before boarding, priority check-in, two free pieces of checked baggage, complimentary alcoholic beverages, and a toiletry kit to help make your flight as comfortable as possible.

This airline’s fleet is made up of 25 different planes, with most of them being either Boeing, Airbus, or Irkut.
